Nanjing Hotel Shanghai Guest Reviews

The location is very near the subway. There are street food nearby and the receptionists are very helpful. Will recommend people to stay, the pricing is good too.

The only advantage of this hotel is the best location at Nanjing Street (Nanjing East Metro Station, Exit 4, 1 minute walk). One of the room-cleaning staff was very rude and unreasonable. Though I switched on the "Do not disturb" sign, she still knocked on my door, and even opened it!! The rest of the staffs were fine. The room has very poor lighting, which makes u extremely sleepy and drowsy.

The Nanjing Hotel is good value for money. The location is great being almost on Nanjing Road and close to the metro. The staff speak acceptable English, and were very helpful when we asked a question. The place is very clean. If we had one criticism it's that the hotel restaurant is quite expensive.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. Excellent location and value for money. Could do with some updating and, again, check-in and check-out staff require an update of their customer service skills

Good value for money. Location is excellent for shopping and train station is just a stone throw away to connect you to many places of interest. Will return to the hotel in the future.

Despite my reservation for a double bed room, I was given a two twin size beds. The room was clean, but small for both my wife and myself. On top of it, the ceiling (on the 8th floor) was extremely low, with very poor lighting in the bathroom. It is just not a very natural setting for a room.

A very good hotel in the centre of Shanghai with good restaurants opposite. Rooms are basic (no fridge) but kettle (with tea only) is provided. Very clean and quiet. By Chinese principles, helpful staff although they sent us to the wrong railway station. I would skip breakfast. Recommended

Just a few metres from Nanjing East Road and 10 minutes away fron the Bund, the location of Nanjing Hotel Shanghai is almost unbeatable. However, the room badly smelled of cigarette smoke and was too dark, more so since the window actually gave onto the corridor instead of the outside; there was no fridge; and the bathroom was quite run down. The place definitely needs a refurbishment! The staff at reception were helpful and spoke english, although this is common in Shanghai unlike other chinese cities.

Front desk staff were very helpful and efficient. Top location - close to many facilities making getting around very easy. Didn't use the dining room, so can't comment.

Location is great - just 1min to Nanjing Road. You can access to most tourist spot within walking distance - (People's Square, The Bund, Various Department Store). Line 2 MRT is just next to hotel...You can take the Maglev to Longyang station & then change to Nanjing East Station (Line 2). But don;t expect good service & facility. Overall, I m satisfied with my stay here...

The location of this hotel was excellent - just off the pedestrian mall in Nanjing Road, close to Metro station. My standard room was fine for one person, would have been very crowded for two. I was disappointed that my room was not connected to the cable internet, as others were.

Good value for Shangai, especially given the location. The rooms are good, but the bathroom does suffer from smelly toilet. The front staff are helpful,if not the friendlest. The staff in the ticket office are very helpful and friendly. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel for someone on a budget who wants a good deal, just keep in mind that the price is low for Shanghai, so don't expect everything to be perfect.

This hotel has a great location and is very well priced. One problem was the lack of English spoken at the front desk as only one staff member could speak English. Another; the hotel could further develop its tourist advice to travellers. The major problem however, lies with the internet address of the hotel on your website. We ended up at a shoeshop 20 minutes away from the correct location of the hotel as there are 2 Shanxi St South on the tourist map. The time from airport arrival to hotel took 4 hours when it should have taken maximum 1 hour. We suggest you add travel advice which is very easy...Take 8 minute Maglev ride, then subway 5 stops and you come out at Nanjing Lu shopping street; the hotel is 3 minute walk from there.
