National Hotel Nice

Very convenient for train travel staff friendly efficient good bkfast, great budget Hotel, v good bathroom etc stayed 4 nights.

Stayed for five nights. Close (5 minute walk) to the main Nice train station. Approx 10-15 min walk to the nicer old town & 15-20 min walk to the coast. This 'new' part of town is run down, under maintenance (temp, uneven paths & ramps, from the road maintenance) for the 2km street & has been happening for 3 years (due to finish at end of 2007). The general double rooms are a reasonable size for Europe but have tiny bathrooms i.e. I'm a petite 5'6" lady & had to sit askew on WC as my legs were too long, hitting the wall. The room needed some maintenance - some of the bottom edges of the wall paper were mouldy. After explaining our dissatisfaction with our room (mainly bathroom), we were upgraded to a family room with more space (room & bathroom), which improved our stay, but same room condition. Free wireless internet access from breakfast room & lobby. The reception staff were helpful with our requests. 60 Euro a night for a double room - cheap but you do get what you pay for.

Location is very good in the specific context: it is 5 min walk from the railway station and the same distance from the bus stop to the airport.

Near the train station and airport bus stop. Located in the shopping districts, close to restaurants. Ample information provided for Cote D'Azur Tours. Staff very helpful. Highly recommended.

Very close to the train station.

Small rooms, but great location; within walking disatnce of the beach and near major shops and resturant areas. Rooms are very small and quaint, but for the low price, it is excellent.
