It is a good hotel, very quite with a very helpful and friendly staff. Some of the rooms are not too large but also not dramatically small. To estimate cleanliness I use to check the bathroom I had a very good impression. The room carpet shows traces of frequent guests and it makes a bit negative impression, similarly as the entrance door. Taking the price into account it is an excellent choice for staying a few days in the Jeju island.
I would be better if the Internet Service is made available 24 hours to guests instead of closing at 10pm.
A hotel with a nice ambience.
The hotel has a great location in shin-jeju and the staff try their best to be helpful. But despite boasting both a korean and western restaurant, neither were open for dinner, nor were the sauna's, nightclub and the shop remained closed through most of the day. I also tried to explain to the guys that I had paid online for the breakfast and ended up having to pay on top of my reservation for it. It made me feel somewhat confined to my room through the night.
Good location in east parts of Jeju (not on the map in the Lonely Planet Korea guide), close to airport. Staff was barely english speaking, so don't expect any help there. There's a business office with two PCs open 08-22, where you can access internet for free, and supposedly also wireless access in the lobby area, but I never got it to work. Rooms where clean but worn, we got a smoking room (there was an ashtray and matches in the room when we arrived) even though we requested a non smoking one in the reservation, but there was no smell of cigarettes in the room. Hotel doesn't provide shampoo, shower gel etc, so bring your own, they do however give you soaps. At the price we paid, I'd still recommend the hotel.
Fine overall but The Western Restaurant was not very welcoming and didnt appear to offer any of the dishes on the menu!!
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was convenient and very comfortable. I don't expect Korean hotels to have English speakers but most do. In this hotel, I did not encounter an English speaker. Also the phone number provided on the web page does not work from within Korea. But overall, a great experience. We would definitely go back.
Friendly, helpful staff, location was convenient both to the town and to the airport. Chose to stay there again when I came back to town, and would recommend to others looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price.
I was pleasantly surprised to check-in to the New Crown Hotel and find it to be more luxurious than I had pictured. For the price, it is well worth it, especially if you are splitting the room with other people. The place is clean, air-conditioning, CNN, what more do you need especially when you probably won't spend too much time in the room? I recommend renting a motorbike, than busing or cabbing to the places you wish to go. The area is close enough to walk to a few good eateries, stores, but about 20 minutes from the nearest beach. For those of you hoping to scourge on some western food, the western restaurant was NEVER open in the hotel, and I stayed there during peak season. Also, when I requested to order from the western menu they sent me upstairs to a less than fair breakfast buffet, which by the way is not free. Don't waste your won there. Go to the Ramada Inn for a more rounded buffet, or buy a yogurt or two at the nearest Family Mart. Have a good vacation in Jeju!
No air working air conditioning. Western restaurant not serving dinner. No internet connection in rooms, and business center only open til 22:00. Rooms OK.
