New Otani Hotel Tokyo Guest Reviews

5 out of 5

The only negative we found was that all the restaurants were so expensive. We never actually managed to eat in the hotel at all, and we would have liked to. Even one or tw medium priced restaurants would have been good, especially for breakfast.

It is a great hotel with class. Well trained staff. Food is a little pricy. Go out a few blocks and pay about an half. The garden is magnificent.

Great hotel and excellent service. The restaurants are little more expensive but there are many good restaurants in near neighborhood.

I suppose it's just Tokyo prices, but I felt this hotel was a bit too expensive with little in return. This is the first 5-star hotel I've stayed in where I have had to pay for Internet services. You don't even get a complimentary water bottle. The basic room was decently sized, but I've stayed in many cheaper hotels with the same or larger size without sacrificing luxury. Location was great...subway line to Shinjuku was a short walk away. Overall, staff were excellent and facilities nice and clean, but I would suggest for people to find a hotel that offers a bit more.

The guy who sold me the Narita bus ticket cannot speak Engish at all it seemed. Bad to give him such responsibility if he can't communicate to customers. To prove my point, four Korean tourists were issued Narita tickets when they were supposed to be going to Haneda. They found out they were on the wrong bus when we were making a stop at the Akasaka Prince Hotel. Japense have to start learning to speak English or other languages... Big problem in Japan it seems.

We were very impressed with the ease that the staff accommodated us upon our arrival. The Bell men welcomed us and took us to the check in desk very quickly. The check in went very well and were escorted to our room in no time. The bell man than made sure we had every thing we needed prior to leaving our room. The maids were outstanding in the performance of their duties and the rooms were always spic and span! All of the staff went out of their way to be friendly and courteous and made every effort to make our stay pleasant. We would deffidently recommend this hotel to anyone. Lawrence and Myrna Jensen

This is a monster modern hotel with an overwhelming floor plan of multi-level shopping and conference facilities. Caters to very upscale international guests. Many amenities but beware that everything is extra (ex: gym). Breathtakingly beautiful restaurants for breakfast buffet (but pricey). Located very close to Akasaka metro stop for easy access. Sounds crazy but it took us two days to figure out how to get to the street with their 5th floor lobbies and labyrinth of elevators into the bowels of the shopping levels. Pack a lunch when you first set out to find the street.

Very nice hotel, especially for the price. Great location, food street just down the road and easy to get around the rest of Tokyo from here also with the nearby metro. Staff were very professional, courteous and polite and thankfully spoke English very well. Would definitely recommend this hotel to those wishing to stay in a reasonably priced hotel with easy access to major sites around Tolyo.

We could not have been happier with our stay at New Otani. Staff were very helpful (despite language differences), rooms were spacious and comfortable, choice of Hotel restaurants was great, the garden that the Hotel is set in is magnificent and all only a 5 minute walk to Tokyo Metro subway station. Overall, we were most impressed by all that this Hotel has to offer.

Ambience was ok.It needs some sprucing up as it feels a bit old.The garden is lovely though.Try and get a room with the garden view. The best part was the location-very close to the MRT, walking distance from JR station and Palace. There are lots of taxis available and it's not too expensive to go to the party districts of Ginza, Raponggi by cab. If you use the Asakusa exit from the hotel, there is a great choice of eateries nearby(Italian, Indian, Indonesian and Japanese restaurants, local cafes, Mc'donalds, Starbucks....). We were happy with our choice .
