Large hotel with excellent location close to Underground (Gloucester Rd with many lines and easy access), Museums and commercial areas. Large room (for London) and two small lifts. Large lobby and bar/resturant, room service. Breakfast not included in price and rather expensive but lots of places serving cheep and adeqate breakfasts nearby.
Hotel was old but clean. I was initially put in a smoking room as they reported not receiving my request for a non-smoking room. This was unbearable as the room is carpeted, with wallpaper and full of upholstered furniture and the stench of smoke was unescapable. They were unable to move me that night but did keep their word and moved me the following morning. Internet was overpriced.
This hotel was in a very good location being only 2 minutes walk from Glouscester Road tube station. The area was quiet with some nice restaurants and a tesco supermarket opposite the tube station if you just wanted to pick something up to have on the go. The staff were friendly and the concierge was extremely helpful. We wanted to take in a show and he gave us some good recomendations and also booked the tickets on line for us at discount price. Our hotel room was a good size -larger than i have come to expect from city hotels. The room itself was perfectly clean, beds comfortable, good sized en suite, etc. The decor was perhaps a little tired particularly in the corridors where it needed to be freshened up a bit. The listed price in the hotel was £210 per room and we paid €140 online. This didn't include breakfast which was £18 pp 'for all you can eat' buffet ,which we thought was a bit steep. I would stay here again if I was visiting London.
Large rooms, larger than London average. Good connection to Picadilly by tube.
A very welcoming reception and friendly and efficient service.
This hotel was in a great location, rooms are spacious and very clean. The main desk staff were courteous and helpful. Some services did not deliver as advertised: a list of services in a brochure in the room promised loans of adapters for computers but the desk told us none were available and that in any case they were for sale, not for loan. This is a minor quibble, we enjoyed the hotel very much indeed and would certainly stay there again.
Good NH hotel, really close to underground station. The rooms are comfortable and silent. Staff really kind and helpful.
An efficient comfortable hotel in a great location. Helpful friendly staff who are keen to please.
Love this hotel - a gem!!! Very good location, near tube station, lots of eateries and shops, nice neighbourhood. Service was good, room spacious, decor old-school but still new if that makes sense - and the price we got through hotelclub was just fab. This is the hotel that I would love to come back to in the future no doubt!
The hotel was very quiet and clean. The concierge was very helpful: The room was small and the location was central to everything: Enjoyed our stay:
good location, big rooms, would use it again
The best thing about the hotel is its staff - unfailingly helpful and positive. Location is great with tube station a short walk and the room was pleasant. The restaurant food was very good and I would stay here again.
The bathroom was a little out-dated but the toiletries were very good quality and plentiful. The beds were comfortable and the menu of pillows a good idea as a decent pillow is vital. I have stayed in hotels with better facilities so feel it was a little over-priced and unlike other London hotels, they didn't make us feel 'special'. It was my sister's 40th birthday treat and the hotel she booked us for my 40th sent us up a bottle of champagne! A lovely touch and we have been back there. Also breakfast was NOT included in the price. A clean and comfortable place to lay your head while you enjoy London.
We booked for the room only, as this was the deal offered through this site. Beware the extortionate cost of breakfast - £35 per couple!
Stayed for a week in july. Very friedy service and good breafast too.
Not a great start - was given a double room instead of the booked king-size - despite having explained this to the (trainee) receptionist. This was soon rectified though. The room was clean, quiet, tastefully decorated and had a/c. The hotel was close to Gloucester Rd tube station, with plenty of eating/drinking choices nearby. Will use again.
Found everything to be a little dated but mostly very clean, however one of the towels left out was dirty. The shower was old, not very powerful and made alot of noise. It actually stopped working on the day we were leaving.
This hotel was excellent in all respects. The location was lovely with underground stations and restaurants very close by.
Friendly staff, big room, wonderful location close to the tube station. Breakfast wasn't included in the room price, but was available for the price of 6 pounds (June-July 2007). Peaceful area, but traffic could be heard.
Superb hotel I have already recommeded it to to friends who stay in London regularly and plan to stay there myself in Sept.
