I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel after reading the many disappointing feedbacks that were left. This is not the Ritz but it's clean and tidy and the staff were very polite and helpful. For those who left poor feedback against this hotel, always remember, you get what you pay for. If you want to be treated like Royalty then go and book the palace! I would definately stay here again.
the only problem i had was that they had a big party downstairs which kept me up i was on the third floor and the smoke alarm went off twice which scared me to death very early in the morning, when i asked for my money back for the last day because i didnt want to stay there again, they refused to give it to me otherwise it is a good little hotel, with small clean rooms, nice coffee shop, good service and well located but not outgoing phones in the rooms. Just wish i could of gotten my money back for the last day;

It was an excellent hotel for just an overnight stay when I had a quick businesstrip to the Croydon Area. I am very likely to use this hotel again in the future.
hotle lobby was good, incorperating bar and limited resturant food, pool table which was not working. Bed room was small, a bit run down and little smelly, in need of refurbishment, no fridge which was a big letdown, hotel location excessable, near bus route, shops and resturants. staff friendly and pleasent.
Moves you back to colonial times when the british empire was in India. Beautiful reception and rest room at entrance. In total a bit simple and familiar, rooms average but with a "home" kind of feeling. No luxury but kind and friendly staff. If you want everything to be perfect this is not for you - but if you want a nice and friendly hotel next to a HUGE shopping centre and with good connections to city centre, this is for you. The street is also filled with small restaurants with snacks, meals or even some quality food.
Clean rooms but very badly planned - door opened into wardrobe, large table in front of window making it hard to open when it became too hot (heating on full all the time) and then there was even louder traffic noise. Tea making facilities not kept stocked up properly.
The staff were very friendly, breakfasts more than adequate but served very late on week ends. The hotel is an old building, well kept and clean and well worth the price I paid.
Thank you very much to all the staff, who were polite, helpful and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be recommending this hotel in the future. *****!
If the service included a sunny weather during staying there I would rate it as the best hotel ever. :)
If you stay at this hotel, you'll be received by a staff that seem to be interested in helping you and making your stay pleasant. The main problem is the location, at about one hour by train and bus from the Victoria station in London. Also, the breakfast is under average.
It is a long way (a bus ride) to any of the stations so buy a travel card before checking in (you can buy one for the following day after 4pm). Despite some sites alledging that the Norfolk has internet facilities, it does NOT! The nearest internet cafes are a bus-ride away at West Croydon station. No local shops nearby. They are 10 minute walk either way. 24 hour mini-market toward West Croydon. There is a 6am - 11pm Tesco Express the other way. You have to have a"ticket" for full English breakfast. You get it from reception. Some of the doorlocks are worn -out. There are no in-room safes or an organised safety-deposit system.
The hotel was alright not bad for the cash the only problem i had was the heat of the rooms both radiators were stuck on full (we requested them to be fixed but they never were) so for 9 days it was like a sauna it was enough to make you ill. Apart from that the breakfast wasnt that bad, The bar shut late most nights friendly staff.
Hotel was a i a good location for me but i was travelling on afterwards. Has 24 hour service and they were very friendly and helpful. They printed out an aa route planner for me at 11.30 at night. Breakfast was a basic continental! Toast & Jam. Cheese, Ham and tea, coffee or juice.
Norfolk House Hotel served the best Continental Breakfast, I ever had on an English hotel. The hotelroom was facilitated with an electric fan, which was very convenient during the hot August nights. The bar was closed when we arrived one night about 10 pm, and the softdrink automat was empty - which made it impossible for us to get a cold drink.
This is a basic budget London Hotel which I found to be good value for money, specifically there are few hotels in London with the parking facilities available here. I will be staying again the next time I am in London.
