Getting there:The North Shore Hotel is located conveniently within 10 minutes walk of North Sydney''s CBD and 15 mins to train station. To get to the North Shore Hotel from the airport you can do three things a taxi will cost you approx. $55.00. Train will cost you approx $16.00 per person. Check-in Procedure:Person to person checkin is available until 2.30pm daily. After that time, guests may be required to checkin via a telephone procedure at the front desk. In this case please follow the signage instructions on arrival.
Car parking:Hotel provides limited secured car parking space which need to be booked in advance. There is on street parking behind the hotel which is free. There are some time restrictions during Mon-Fri but no restrictions during the weekend and holidays.
Child Policy:We do accept children. In all cases a larger room is required and a surcharge to cover the larger room will be required, PLUS a charge of $10 per person extra. Any extra person(s) MUST be confirmed directly with the hotel. The same policy applies to extra adults.
Older building but very clean.All we needed for overnight stay.Very cold on the night we stayed but no extra blankets.Reception closes very early.

The people were friendly. The rooms are very small & the shower screen doors fell off as soon as I opened them. I assume that bthe cleaner would've noticed this whence last in the room. Otherwise quite okay.
This is a very old building with no acoustic insulation whatsoever. My room had a connecting door to the next room (which I wasn't using) and I could hear my neighbour's alarm clock activate every morning at 5am as if it were in my own room. The top of the window had no glass, just wire screen and so I could hear the dishes being prepared every morning before breakfast. Apart from that, the dead cockroach in the cupboard and the mould on the bathroom mirror it was a cheap, friendly place to stay. The location was great, walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants and a large park directly opposite.
I find NSHS to be very convenient. buses are virtually at the front of the building, just a short bus trip to Milsons Point and then a quick ferry trip to many locations.
