Novotel Queenstown Lakeside Guest Reviews

4.8 out of 5

Fantastic location, very close to town with most things within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff and hotel was clean and comfortable. Great value!

4.6 out of 5

Was told about a pre-auth on the credit card but wasn't told it would be NZD50 per day. Result: Very embarrassing when our c/c declined (we'd saved it for a special purpose). Weren't told where our room was (there are multiple stairs and elevators). Sincere staff however. Tried to assist once we pointed out the failure of information provided and our embarrassing experience with a top retailer. Spa is good but feel pressured to be out within time. Can't fault standard of cleaning and room presentation. Outstanding service from cleaning staff. Great location - don't know if I would go back.

Located at the edge of the downtown district. In about a minute, you can be eating, drinking and shopping your way through Queenstown. Also located next to Queenstown Garden filled with flowers and trees. The rooms are nice and clean. Maybe a little small. I recommend getting the rooms with a patio facing the lake. Great place to enjoy some drinks with friends at the end of the day. Front desk very friendly. Seems to be staffed with people from all over the world.

Everything about the novotel was fantastic. All the staff were really lovely and helpful and the location is the best in Queenstown (especially as I wasn't driving). As I got such a good rate it was really worth the money. The breakfast buffet deserves special mention as it was fantastic.

The hotel is very near to the shopping mall. Foods are very easy to find around the area. Room was nice and we had very good sleep every night.

Great location. Room was a little small and was close to lift so very noisy. No gym. Breakfast was great.

A very good location, close to the lake, gardens and central township. It can be a bit noisy in the small hours due to 'happy' revelers outside! Shower over small bath with grab bars.

An excellent hotel in a wonderful location at a very affordable price. My only gripe was their excessive internet connection charges. Absolutely outrageous. We stayed there four nights and our total internet connection charge exceeded a night's stay. This is something they need to get a grip on. Other than that, an excellent, easy, recommendation.

Love this hotel. It is in a perfect lakeside location, the staff are pleasant and helpful and the rooms are an excellent standard. We had to return to this hotel following the earthquake in Christchurch and the hotel reception staff were very helpful. It is very busy so the reception, bar, restaurant are always full of people but that's probably a good sign albeit it can get a bit noisy in those areas. All good, would not consider staying anywhere else.

Staff excellent. Not enough is done to encourage patrons to eat in restaurant. Maybe a discounted meal each sitting. Bar area very poor and unwelcoming (inside) We ate out each night, lost opportunities by yourselves for $150 per night extra in lost revenue, we had a 6 night stay. On all our early trips booked through conscierge no mention of a breakast delivered to our room as an upsell. We would have accepted this and eated as we prepared to leave for e.g. Milford Sound.

The best location by the lake , wonderful walks + Queenstown Gardens with all their beauty & duckponds. Quiet one way street 5 minutes walk from town centre. Only 4 storeys high. Beautiful rose gardens. Superb restaurants nearby. Continual upgrading of rooms with all to soon have air conditioning. 2 Free Apple computers in public area. Room safes not big enough to take a laptop. Novotel breakfast good quality & variety. All staff exceptional with service. Fortunate to have an excellent female day Duty Manager. Stayed here in March 2010 & again December 2010. The ONLY place I'd stay.
