We stayed at this very nice large hotel with hunting/ski lodge decor the night before we departed Ireland which was super convenient to Shannon Airport and gas station (to refill rental car). Room was spacious comfortable clean and quiet. Cordial welcoming staff at desk and in dining room. Breakfast buffet was good with a variety of cereals, granola, danish, eggs, sausage etc. Business center was useful. Excellent value. Minor: no luggage cart available but parking is plentiful and these are exits close to the room.
Stayed here for a wedding. Staff were very nice, rooms were clean. Breakfast was good, Standard fryup and a choice of cerials too. Close to Shannon Airport, but you won't be awoken by the noise of landings. All in all a good place to stay.
Spacious room with double or 2 single beds. All rooms are ensuite.
Missing attention to detail in house keeping. Our room was well short of expectation in this competive industry.
close to airport and ideal for pepole who want to explore the west of ireland
Stayed for one night on business and found both the hotel facilities, quality and staff better than a lot of 4 star hotels I have stayed in. I had a room at the back of the hotel which was a little difficult to find as the signage is not particularly clear. The room unfortunately had a view of the service yard and boilerhouse which is shared by many rooms at the back of the hotel. Not particularly pretty and was at times noisy as the boilers fired up! A minor point but I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and will stay again. The hotel decoration is fascinating for the aviation enthusiast displaying many old and interesting pictures and posters etc of commercial aviation development.
We were given horrible directions for taking the bus. If we hadn't run into a nice man on the street who gave us walking directions (on the way back to the hotel) after getting off at the station the woman at the desk told us to, we would have never found the hotel again. Other than that the place was great.
I stayed at the Oakwood Arms hotel in April 08 for a weekend break to Ireland. I loved the hotel and found the staff very helpfull, the room was large and comfortable. Although there is not a lot to do in Shannon the hotel has a bus stop right outside that has regular services to many tourist spots (the hotel also has timetables for the buses)
Lovely hotel. Very clean, and tidy. I didn't think much of the restaurant food but the bar menu wasn't bad. Next time I would give the restaurant a miss and eat in the bar. Having said that , the breakfast was good.... All in all a great stay and would definitley recommend.
Easy, convenient and friendly service
Hotel very nice and clean. Not much to see and do in Shannon itself though.
Very difficult to find fault with this hotel. A party of 7 of us stayed here for 4 nights over the new year and we we all were very pleased with everything.
Very spacious and comfortable room in a large and impressive hotel. Lovely wood pannelling and interesting historical aviation prints and advertisements to fly from yesteryear ! great breakfast - would definetely stay there again.
Excellent vale for money
Great breakfast freshly cooked - large room with comfy beds,we were on the ground floor which was a bit noisy when ever anyone used the staircase near our room - that said we would definently use this hotel again.
The hotel and room are lite by atmospheric lighting. Not my taste too dark. Raised it was reception, staff very helpful and arranged an extra desk light in room.
Very Friendly & helpful staff, will stay there again.
Decent hotel, close to Shannon Airport.
Very nice hotel with beautiful restaurant and excellent cuisine. Very good wait staff. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Ample parking and close to airport. Need more help at front desk--there was a wedding party present during our stay and check in required waiting on long line, yet only one person was working front desk.
Great staff and very good food
the hotel is a very good standord, if i had any criticism it would be when the hotel is full you may have to park at the rear of hotel and then walk all the way round to front entrance, there is a rear entrance that should be left open up to a time. but i did enjoy my stay, and will book again . regards ray m.
