Hotel is pretty new so still has that glossy feel. However, for a new hotel, there needs to be closer attention to detail. Firstly, arrived early an enquired about early check-in just in case. Receptionist just about laughed in my face and then promised to call me when my room was ready. She never did. Being the first time in Broome, I asked directions to town, which was met by a quizzical look from the same receptionist. Upon check-in, I discovered my room didn't have a remote control. I reported to front desk and it was several hours before it was seen to. Initially, someone appeared at my room with batteries, which was good except I didn't have the actual remote. The room I had was in a set of two with a common airlock. This is really noisy as the person next door came and went loudly really late at night. As far as cleanliness, the toilet had a rust stain on the water's edge, which made it look unclean. The base of the kettle was rusty. These are not the sorts of things you would expect from a new hotel.
Food was excellent, rooms were comfortable, bathrooms were spartan, staff were very helpful
Great new hotel, request a 1 bedroom unit with spa as they are in the best locations. Lovely pool areas. Dining could be better, but as we stayed in room with kitchen it didn't really matter.
Had a great time at this resort. Plenty of room in our apartment, with all the facilities you could possibly need. Fantastic pool - the kids had a swim every day.
A great place to stay, very modern and well fitted out. We had a 1 bedroom with spa, Gibb River Rd
Good modern hotel with spacious room and a very large pool. Restaurant only average for breakfast.
very pleasant.enjoyed it could do with some restaurant menus in the room.9 out of 10
Comfortable, clean and quiet - just right for a relaxing weekend away!
We stayed at the hotel for three nights. I chose the location for its proximity to Town Beach and the 'staircase to the moon' and it served that purpose well. It is handy to the town bus and has a museum, supermarket and liquor outlet across the road. The hotel is near new and is well maintained. The studio room was spacious and quiet at night, the bed large and comfortable. Front desk service was so-so and our room was not serviced on the first day of our stay due to some misunderstanding. We did not utilise the restaurant. In Broome it is a toss-up as to whether to stay in the Cable Beach area or in the old Town area. Both have their advantages and in the end are only a $3.50 pleasant bus ride away from each other.
I got upgraded to spa appt without extra charge. The place was great, 2 clean pools, nice restaurant, pool bar. Everything very clean and good service. I will be back!
We had a great stay at the Oaks. We were given an upgrade from a hotel room to a one bedroom apartment. The apartment was very comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly
The Oaks is a well positioned hotel for those who want to be near Town beach and Old Broome. The facilities are new and modern and the staff are friendly and attentive. Transportation to Cable Beach wld make this a better venue for more travellers.
My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Oaks in the low (summer) season. It's a well appointed studio type hotel with great pools and close to Town beach. Rooms are well insulated and the beds are new and firm. We had a car but for those that don't, the hotel should offer a daily shuttle into Chinatown for shoppers and one out to Cable beach for beach goers. Good pricing ($139/night) during the low season.
The Oaks is a new hotel opened in May 09. It is located on the site of the old Tropicana Hotel. My Studio room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. It had resonable sized balcony also. The hotel is located on the Broome Town side and is the best property on this side. It has 2 pools with the larger pool being very nice. It is a short stroll to Town beach and Matsos brewery, and there is a liquor store across the road. It is only a short drive to town or the main shopping centre. I would recommend this hotel.
I was in a disable room and felt they needed a chair in bathroom so I could sit on it and get dressed as I wear a calipar and have to remove it while showering.Maybe a ledge to put clothes on etc as well.
This was a fantastic hotel, the staff were friendly, the service was excellent and the rooms were very well appointed. I have stayed at a number of locations in and around Broome and this is now my favourite.
Nice new hotel resort still some parts under construction but would still recommend it to people. We are from Perth and enjoyed the stay there
