Oaks Lagoons Port Douglas

We stayed for 4 nights at Oaks Lagoons in a 2 bedroom plunge pool apartment. The rooms were spacious and clean, the study area was large enough for a portacot for our daughter which meant both our kids got a room each. One bonus was the spa which we used instead of the pool as the pool was freezing. It is close to the beach but not to the main shopping area of Port Douglas but we had a car so that was fine. I would definitely stay here again.

Was good value and comfortable, clean room.

Rooms and pool were exceptionally good, however resorts' lack of other facilities ie. bar, restaurant or even coffee shop was disappointing.

Nice hotel, good place to stay if you plan on having a relaxing holiday. Not the best location if you plan on going into town every day as the bus costs $4 each way ($7 return). Sounds like not much but when you go every day it all adds up. Port Douglas is very expensive for what it offers.

Great vacation. The apartment was bigger than we thought. The washer and dryer was great. There is no oven, but stove and microwave were good.

A great venue - had a private plunge pool with courtyard which was great though with other balconies overlooking it could hardly be described as private. Plenty of room and great airconditioning!!

This was our second stay here, and it didn't disappoint. The staff were as friendly and helpful as I remembered, and our swim-out room was lovely. It's a good location (assuming you've got transport) and has a very laid-back vibe - but the rooms, pool and grounds were clean and well kept. We'll definitely be back again!

Nice spacious apartments, good location, great views and surroundings. There is no lifts to get to the 2nd floor apartments, need to go by stairs. I would recommend this apartment.

A beautiful resort in an even more beautiful location. Not the cheapest but a very good deal!! Very kid- friendly, too

The Oaks Lagoon provide great apartments, The swim out rooms looked brilliant and we went again we sould certainly book them. Staff were knowledgable and friendly. Very good apartmet , facilities, pools and BBQ area

Great hotel, awesome pools, Immaculate gardens. Better kept that other resorts that were far dearer. You really need a car or to catch the local bus everywhere

Wonderful place to stay, comfortable, roomy and good facilities, great BBQ area. Stayed in swim out apartment on sunny side of resort. Can't fault the resort, but found fault with other guests not having respect for others, some were noisey - right outside our poolside chairs, while we were trying to relax, also people ignoring signs and diving into the pool right beside our unit. Apart from that the place was ideal, especially if you had a vehicle.

It is a nice hotel with many pools and large apartments, but located pretty far from everything and unless you have a car is not very convinient. You could also catch a shuttle for $4 to the town instead of 45-50 minutes walk. The nearest supermarket is more than 15 minutes walk and there are only Fish&Chips and a restaurant in Tree Tops nearby. It is about 10 minutes to the unpatrolled beach, but 40 minutes to the patrolled one. The staff was friendly and have done tour bookings well. However, my mood was spoiled on departure when my account was ~$30 more for the internet I didn't use. I was charged even for the arrival day when I didn't receive even a password for login! After long discussion I finally was charged only for my usage, but they still said that will continue to investigate. The problem is that they have rooms A and B for the same number and this might be a reason for the mix-up.

Repeat visit. Enjoyed Oaks Lagoon.

We were not aware that we had booked a non serviced apartment- no beds made-no clean sheets-rubbishbin's not emptied-when we asked for clean sheets after 3 days we were told that we had to pay $20 extra as the usual was 7days,in that climate that was strange to us- the Oaks Lagoon is a fair way out from town, certainly not walking distance unless "super fit". There are better places available closer to town for less or same money. p.s. we gave no rating for service in this case,as you demand it-we gave average for staff

We stayed two nights in a swim out apartment and found it was excellent. Having the pool at your doorstep is really great and as it was hot very nice just to be able to relax in the pool

It's far from Port Douglas center, but we had a car so no problems for that. Hotel is really clean, we had a room with access to the swimming pool, super! For the money it's really a good option. It's not the Sheraton, but if you just want good place to sleep, a good bed, good shower and a nice room, this hotel is perfect!

Comfortable room with spa. Good parking space. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Value for money and would definitely stay again.
