Perfect views o the city for new years fireworks. Located close to south bank, flinders street. Perfect location to explore the CBd. However room service was practically non existent. General service that you would expect when staying at hotel wasn't apparent. That is probably how they keep there prices. Competitive not a bad compromise. Just byo everything u might need because room service operating hours are very limited. We wanted some ice and were told to go buy some from 7 eleven- we didn't need a bag just two glasses thought that was a bit tight. They provide tea, coffee in room but if u need extra milk u might be charged! Cots come with a charge too!
great hotel, great location
the experience of staying in the city at the oaks on market was great the staff were friendly and were quick to responed to any needs
arrived late just as the restaurant and bar was closing and they stayed open so we could eat.would stay here again most def.very central in the city, very clean and very good food. great for a weekend stay.
A great stay!
had a great time would not hessitate to come back again
The pool is great, the service was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again
Excellent location, close to everything and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I stay here everytime I visit melbourne for business or pleasure.
Great location, great staff and great value for money.
Good location - walking distance to most of the city or there's trans close by. Staff were friendly & helpful. Nice size clean rooms, comfortable beds & no city noise at all. Would have no hesitation staying there again.
wonderful resort. 2nd time stay and will again. great value booking through hotel club. booked in may for july stay and only disappointment was we (2 couples) were booked on 2 different floors 18th and 20th BUT we asked to be put on the same floor and the great staff accomodated us with our request. thanks to the team at oaks.
I have stayed a lot of Melbourne City hotels for business and would rate this one highly for its central location, good design, stylish decor and the fact that it has a kitchenette (solo travellers like to eat in!). There is also a bar and restaurant if needed. You don't get any fabulous views but you do get a good night's sleep because it is quiet (in Rm 303 anyway). Bathroom is spacious and functional - paint work could be freshened up but this does not detract as everything else is fine.
Stayed for 3 nights. Very good facilities, included a heated indoor swimming pool / spa / suana and a gym which opened untill late. Very central location. Room service was a bit too inconsistent as the cleaner came in once at 4pm (late) and once before 10am (early).
convenient location with discounted car parking made the weekend melbourne getaway memorable!
Very convenient location as it is centrally located --- nearby are Immigration Museum, Melbourne Aquarium and Crown Casino as well as walking distance to Flinder Street Station and Federation Square. Studio room is quite spacious with small kitchenette. However, disappointment during our stay is the lack of a cork remover in the kitchenette. We requested from the reception or front office for a cork remover (room service is up to 10pm only), and they informed us that they do not have any cork remover available. My husband and I found this incredulous as there is a bar in the hotel below. My husband resorted to go to 7/11 and buy a cork remover in order for us to open and drink our bottle of wine in the room. Just to add, there were wine glasses available in the studio room, but again, no available cork remover. On the other hand, our room and bathroom were cleaned everyday so that made our stay comforting.
Great business hotel, especially if you are in town for an exhibition. Just a short 10 minutes stroll along the river to the centre and great in house Italian!
Lovely two bedroom unit with plenty of room, great views over Yarra River, South Bank and beyond to the bay. Comfy beds & pillows. Lacking in a couple of little areas - no tourist or local services information (we found a 7/11 very close in the light of day next morning), costly internet (why do all large hotels do this?), no minibar, no dvd player and only a 'pay for' movie channel, no shower cap, no iron (but a call and one was delivered straight away). Lift reliable and quick (for 19th floor). Tram is very close and there was always a taxi waiting outside. Didn't use restaurant.
Faultless
As with our stay in the Oakes Embassy in Adelaide last year we found the accommodation to be excellent .One small negative in that being a height challenged person I found the overhead cupboards a bit difficult to negociate at times ,and as alot of your guests I guess would be of the asian persuation and similarily challenged I would imagine it would be the same for them .
This was a great hotel for both service and location. We arrived early but they found us a room and we where booked in before 10 am. Would definately stay there again and recommend it.
