Ocean Residence Biarritz

This hotel was perfect for my husband and me. It is very central, a couple of minutes to Le Grand Plage, the best beach for swimming. We arrived in Biarritz with no map, there is no information office at the train station. But we found a helpful bus driver who took us to the information office in town. centre, a 5 minute walk to the hotel. As we were in the centre of town all bars and restaurants are close by. Staff at the hotel spoke excellent English and were always very helpful. All rooms are apartments with plenty of supplies and are serviced daily with clean towels and new sheets. The bunk room for children is small, the top bunk has a sign 'not suitable for children under 6." Our bedroom had a wardrobe and shelving with cupboard, and takes a foldaway bed The couch in the lounge folds down to a double bed. But they have no 3 bedroom apartments. If I ever return to Biarritz I would stay here again, excellent value for money.

I took a chance booking three apartments for myself, my wife and two other couples. Located in the centre of Biarritz and just 5 minutes walk to the daily market. The apartments are spacious and well fitted with parking. We had a queen double bed with plenty of storage space in the bedroom. There was a set of bunk beds in an alcove so we could have accomadated 4. The sitting room had a small balcony and a good kitchen for breakfast and light cooking. The toilet is separate from the washroom, which had a bath and shower attachment. I would definitely go back.

This is one of the best allround hotels we have stayed in, very keenly priced for the facilities provided.

Location fine, center of town. Very helpful reception service. Plenty of space for two persons. We shall return to Ocean Residence. We have some plans for next year already.

Staff not very friendly, but they were very helpful when we left something behind in the room. Kitchen needs a microwave, toaster, electric jug - real basic kitchen equipment when you are paying higher than average room fees Unit is nice, roomy and sunny. Good broadband We felt it was expensive

Very central and nice and quiet. Would recommend to others. The kitchen is equipped but NO kettle. Had to boil the water in a pot for my cup of tea. Also, basic things not provided in kitchen, i.e. dish cloth, washing up liquid, pot scrub, teatowel,etc. A hassle to go and buy all that just for a few days stay.

Overall, apartment was very nice. Unfortunately the last people to stay were obviously not very hygienic, as the cutlery and crockery all needed cleaning thoroughly before use! The only other problem was that it cost as much to reserve a parking space in their car park as it was to pay on the meters outside!

Reception closes at 9.30p.m. You will not be able to gain entry after this unless you have the code to the door and can remember it. The room is self cleaning as any cleaning you do is done by you for the duration of your stay. The staff at reception are very good.No a/c in rooms.

We didn't really know what to expect, but considered that the hotel was excellent value compared to others in the area. The location was fantastic, right in the centre of Biarritz and close to everything. Some of the staff spoke acceptable english, but were extremely friendly. I did not know that a 50 euro car parking fee would be charged until I arrived, but that was preferable to parking on the street. The hotel is really a self catering block of apartments. Each apartment has a small cooker and kitchenette. In England it would probably rate a 2-3 star. We were also not made aware of the daily tax to stay in the apartment. (about 1 euro 60 per day) We were not given towel changes or room service i.e. making the beds, but that did not affect the enjoyment of the holiday. The location is brilliant and with a few small changes, the hotel could rate as an outstanding place to stay. Some super french restaurants and sites to see. Biarritz is a beautiful place to go and stay.

Ocean Residence gives you the impression it will be on the seaside - it's not. There are no views from this apartment complex. When we checked in it was nice to see that the staff could speak english quite well and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One thing however, is there were no towels in the bathroom and when we asked for some, they said they wouldn't have any til the next morning so we were unable to shower that night and after a full day of travelling, we weren't very impressed with that. Overall, it's ok but not good.

Excellent accomodation. Well worth the money

It was our first visit to Biarritz and our first with [your website], and we were really impressed with the accommodation. The hotel staff(reception) were very friendly and helpful. We would go to that hotel if we went to Biarritz again.
