Ok first the bad. One of the staff members at the desk was a bit rude and the alleyway next to the hotel smelled pretty bad due to a litter of almost grown half wild cats that reside there(not the hotels fault). The a/c unit in our room was REALLY loud and there was no fan in the bathroom(minor issues really). But the building was a neat old art deco that was pretty well kept and our room was clean and smelled fresh. The location was perfect for us as it is a bit isolated and quiet(the party hub of Miami Beach is a mile or 2 south). Not to mention it is well patrolled by police so we felt safe. Also we never had to walk more then 2 blocks to get to a drugstore for emergency provisions or really good ethnic restaurants. For the price especially,we would definitely consider staying here again.
The hotel was really good. The staff was very professional, extremly helpful and well rounded with the area. The only problem was that the hotel is about 25 mins away by bus from the south beach (hot spot of Miami). The rooms were good. Size of the room was fine, breakfast is okay and beds are perfect in size. The best thing is the beach. The hotel is directly infront of the beach (2 mins walk)
Two Double beds. Mini refrigerator, hair dryer, Contemporaneous style furniture, Color TV, individual A/C climate. Daily complimentary continental breakfast.
Had agreat time went to the beach everyday and clubs
Quadruple room rented was too small to accomodate 4 people. Very little space to walk between beds. Maybe it is a good idea to indicate sq ft or sq mt available in the room in case of triple or quadruple rooms quoted.
Oh dear, from the description, I was really looking forward to this hotel. We had to change our room as soon as we walked in as I was appalled at the dirtiness of the room, our next room wasn't much better but we had been upgraded to a beach view room so we stuck with it. The only good thing about this place was the location, literally walk out of the hotel across the road (which isn't a busy road) to the beach, and I think this end of the beach is better then South Beach, would I recommend.........only if you were on a dirt cheap budget.
not too bad...not too good...only for the cheap price
The location of the hotel is very good (if you have a car) as you can reach all Miami areas quite fast. Parking is right outside and costs USD 6.42 a day. The safe in our room did not work but you do have 3 HBO channels. On our two night stay housekeeping did not show up. The hotel is a bit outdated on the inside (the outside looks very good), but given the price you pay it is good value for money.
This hotel has seen better days. Although clean, the rooms are definitely not soundproof and are quite cramped. The door frame in our room was separated from the wall itself. We were concerned about safety after dusk and, since we did not know the area at all, we stayed in our room for the evening. The beach front would make for a nice walk in good weather. The front desk staff were quite helpful with a restaurant selection and we enjoyed their suggested venue.
The position is fantastic. The concierge was helpful in booking tours.
