Orchid Hotel Hue

This hotel would without a doubt have the best service i have ever encountered. So helpful, friendly and professional. Nothing was ever a problem. Highly rated.

It is the hotel you must stay in. We stayed in family room as no other room was available and it was fantastic. Computer 32 inch LCD tv in room. Large king size bed clean and perfect location. We moved to the standard room the next night and it had a computer but smaller tv. It was the best hotel i have stayed in for a long time and you would pay well over a $100 for the standard room and over $200 for the better rooms if in australia. Stay here if you can. Modern facilities as well.

All terrific from welcome drink to booking taxi for airport. Air con struggled but DVD player and complimentary snacks made up for that.

This hotel was wonderful. The room was immaculate, the staff very attentive, and the included breakfast was excellent. Upon arrival I was upgraded at no charge. My only complaint was that the river/mausoleum tour I arranged through the hotel was not good -- the guide's English was poor and he appeared to have gotten his limited information by reading a guide book. So, stay here, but book your tours elsewhere.

Excellent buffet breakfast on offer. Only frustration was having to wait in reception for 30-45 mins until being processed for check-in (admittedly they offered refreshments). Seems to be a policy of making people wait - possibly to stall until booking details are located or a room is found/prepared. But at least at the conclusion we were pleasantly upgraded free of charge to the honeymoon suite!

This by far is one of the best hotels we have stayed in during our trips to south east Asia. The hotel staff are very friendly, and all speak very good english. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Whilst we were downstairs waiting for our room to be made up they offered us beverages and fresh fruit. The room was small, but beautifully appointed, and very clean. Breakfast buffet was good (not great), but certainly alot to choose from both western and vietnamese food. The room offers a DVD player and there is a large selection to choose from in the lobby - all complimentary. I would stay in this hotel again, and HIGHLY recommend to anyone planning a stay in Hue. It is about a 15 minute walk (or US$1 cyclo!) from the main markets and shopping. But there is a very large number of restaurants within minutes of walking out the door. Excellent hotel.

Excellent service and help from staff who were always smiling, greeting us, and extremely keen to help if we had a query. We were upgraded to a family room which was excellent, roomy and very well appointed and decorated. As well as the usualy hair dryer, electric jug, tv and dvd player, it also included a mini stereo and a newish computer with internet. The breakfast buffet was beautiful and more than catered for our preferences. This was all for only US$35 per night! In 3 weeks travelling in Vietnam, the Orchid was the best hotel we stayed in and wished we could have stayed longer.

This is a 4-star hotel for the price of a 2-star. The rooms are a bit small, but otherwise everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

My wife and were very happy indeed with the Orchid Hotel's welcome and our stay there. It was easily the best hotel we stayed at in Vietnam for its price range. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, a most generous selection of fresh fruit and homemade delicacies that we still miss!

loved our stay here - the staff were so helpful, the breakfast was good and our room was lovely - we had the new romantic suite with jacuzzi and found it very enjoyable. the nice touches are the free internet and the dvd player in room (with selection of dvds to watch in reception)

Excellent hotel, excellent staff. Was definitely an awesome place to stay, after 16 hours on the train! Everyone should come here and stay if you're planning to drop by Hue.

Location poor, though there are shuttles to 3 convenient down town places , every half hour.The executive area is fabulous and staff at the hotel are helpful and friendly, most with excellent English (at least at the check in desk at reception).Only a few lifts ,so will need to wait a while. Very good buffet meals.

Fantastic hotel, excellent service with lots of smiles, the free internet and DVDs are an added bonus. Small boutique hotel without pool, but this doesn't take anything away from its charm. After we left the hotel we left one bag on the bus, which had our tailored clothes in. We booked the bus through Orchid and one phone call later they had found our bag at the bus depot and we were reunited with our bags 3 days later in Ho Chi Minh City all for the cost of $5.. Excellent hotel, stay here.

We were positively surprised about the high standard of this little cosy but excellent hotel. The rooms were elegant and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. I only can recommend this little gem.

This was a fantastic hotel. The room that we got was first-class in terms of decor, the staff were very welcoming and friendly (particularly the receptionist Kim Chi), the location was good also. I think it's ranked #1 in Vietnam on [other website] and it's obvious why. One other good point-the room phones use VOIP protocol so calls to countries cost only a few cents a minute (e.g. five cents a minute to Ireland).
