Overall the hotel presents well and is located in a good spot close to the Peace memorial and A-Dome buildings. Its a 5 minute walk from the tram stop which will take you back to Hiroshima JR station for onward travel and train/ tram trip to Miyajima. Staff spoke minimal english but only encountered an issue with this when trying to order room service (still managed to get what I ordered so not so bad). Major problem with the room was the portable air con unit they have - small and noisy and not so effective. Apart from that a decent stay for the money.
Very good. Room facing east and could see the sun rising on the horizon in the morning. Room is more spacious than rooms of other hotels of the same price. The only complaint is the pillow which is too soft and shapeless. Couldn't sleep properly and had neck and back ache.
The room was a bit small but manageable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is walking distance to most places like shopping malls, tourist area which is good. you could surf the internet at the lobby which is good. Poor selection of tea/coffee in the room, virtually no coffee, sugar or milk- you had to buy your own.overall the stay was satisfactory.
We were pleasently surprised by the quality of this hotel. Centrally located and an easy 10 min walk to the A bomb meorial & gardens
I was amazed how good the Oriental hotel was considering the great rates. An extremely well presented and well run hotel, we couldn't have asked for more. A short walk to the Peace Park and also close to the centre of town and with great access from the highway: I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to those visiting Hiroshima for business or pleasure.
Well situated and good size room for a Japanese Hotel, great view from room down Peace Boulevard
Oriental Hotel Hiroshima is a spectacular hotel located on the historical Peace Boulevard. It is a fantastic location as it is situated very close to the main shopping and eating part of the city including Hondori Street. It is a great walk to the Peace Park as it isn't too far and it takes you through Hondori as well. The hotel itself is very stylish and the rooms are very comfortable. There is a great bar with live jazz on friday nights as well as a great selection of drinks (cocktails are prepared by a fantastic, kind man). Also, Hiroshima isn't too far up north either so that is another easily reachable attraction. The main Shinkansen station is too far to comfortably walk to and from but it is a short (and cheap) taxi ride away.
A really nice hotel located just a few blocks from the peace memorial park. It's clean and the room was quite big. We got upgraded for 1000 yen pr night. We had a fabulous view over Hiroshima city and could even see all the way to Myajima. The staff was friendly and they speak English.
we booked a smoking room on [website], when we entered the room in the hotel it smelled so much that we couldn't stay in, so we went back to the reception, and they proposed us an upgrade for 1000Yen/night, it was VERY worth it ! we got a corner room on floor 14, with the bath with view over the city, it was excellent ! if you're not happy with your room, always ask the desk they're here to help you. unlike another couple that i heard they left after complaining their room was noisy, ours was perfectly fine. especially for the price we paid here at [website].
Extremely hot in the room we weren’t able to sleep because it was to hot and we couldn’t use air condition.
The Oriental Hotel Hiroshima far exceeded any expectations I had. The hotel is beautiful, although the room did seem a bit small, even by Japan standards. The service was exceptional. English can be spoken for the most part. A lady at the front desk, made reservations for us on a local dinner cruise, and made sure all of our arrangements were taken care of. She even ran outside to hail us a cab, and to make sure the driver knew exactly where to take us. She was very very helpful. It is about a ten minute walk to the Peace Park and the memorial sites, but we had great weather and it wasn't a problem. Nightlife district is a couple blocks from the hotel making restaurants and bars all within a few minutes walk. Great hotel, I would definitely stay there again.
Great hotel rooms spacious and air con individual controled
We had a wonderful say at Hiroshima Oriental Hotel it is well situated for access to the Peace Park and transport. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable, also smoke free. Yes!
The Oriental is a good hotel at the top end of town. It was a good base for us to travel from (we like walking so it was good for us to be out of the main city a little bit). A walk to the Peace Park took around 15 minutes and into town was only 5 minutes or so. The breakfast buffet was ok - not the best we've ever had but not bad. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel as it was a little pricey for what it was in our opinion. We preferred to go local anway - there are so many restaurants available in the city. Room was small but clean with everything we needed. We use our hotel as a base for sleeping - the rest of the day is spent out and about so we don't need much.
Good location, along the Peace Drive, it was very beautiful while we were there because of the Illuminations along the drive. Great night walk (albeit very cold!). Didn't work out the public transport, found that it wasn't too expensive to use the taxi from Hiroshima station. The only problem we had was regulating the aircon, because they'd just changed over to heating due to the cold snap, but we found the rooms too hot. The foyer of the hotel is very nice. Rooms are small, but no different from other hotels we'd stayed in Japan.
good location, clean and comfortable, friendly staff, excellent value for money. it's the best value hotel we stayed in our trip in japan.
A small but vey clean room proved perfect for an overnight stay.
small room (not that this is unusual), very classy, great location - recommend highly
I loved this hotel! We had an amazing view, it was on a walking distance from the Peace Park and the nightlife area is just on the next street.
Lovely hotel. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Rooms are reasonable size. Located on major road to Peace Park, only 10-15min walk.
