4-bed dorms are a bit spartan and small (no lockers or bed lights) but clean. kitchen is ok, toilets and showers also. the whole problem with this place is that it's a monopoly that's why the inflated price.

This is the only and the best accommodation for backpackers in Ayers Rock. It's crowded with travelers from all over the world, with live music, BBQ(kangaroo meat!), cheap restaurants as well as a swimming pool.

Both rooms I stayed in were crammed full of beds, leaving little room for other furniture such as chairs, but otherwise a nice place to stay.

small room with bunk beds but we knew that when booking as only affordable room. No furniature so lived out of cases. As all hotels at Yalara / Aires Rock l understand are owned by Voyager they can charge what they want so expensive for what you get. plenty of eating options including site kitchen area.

Extremely expensive for what resembled a 1960's Butlins holiday camp chalet.

I have stayed many times at the Pioneer outback as well as other motels at Yalara. I can state with confidence that the outback poineer is the best value accomodation at Uluru. Not as much in the way of room service options but the price and reliability of overall service far outways that.

Considering value for money, prices at Ayer's Rock Resort, including Outback Pioneer Lodge are outrageous concerning accomodation and restaurantprices. But if you want to spend the night somewhere in this area there is not much of a choice

This is the best resort at the Ayres Rock resort for a bit of night life and atmosphere. Staff were very helpfull and the evening cook your own BBQ is excellant.

This exceeded my expectations, which had not been high with it being the "lowest" price of the hotels on offer at Ayers Rock Resort (but the most expensive of our trip!). The hotels here are very expensive compared to other places we had stayed. Adequate accommodation for our two day stay. Nothing horrendous to report. Obviously if budget allows, one of the pricier hotels would be better, but better than I thought it would be.

Stayed in a budget room with bunk beds. Floor was dirty and air conditioner was weak. No t.v. Location was good and the staff was friendly.

i stayed in a 2 bunk room with 3 adults, it was fun but a little cramped, worth every penny though as it was cheap. the pool was a saviour from the flies!!!!!!!!!! make sure you take a fly net for your face. the beer garden/bar was great meeting a lot of travellers from all over and the entertainment was good.

The Outback Pioneer lodge was lovely, very nice room and great service but very expensive, especially the food and the accomodation itself.

Definately overpriced for a spartan cinderblock bunkroom. Felt like I was being ripped off just because [travel company] runs the whole resort and can charge whatever it likes because you have no other alternative. The room had one overhead light that prevented me from reading at night as it shined in the eyes of the people in the top bunks. I paid less than this per night for a 5 star Luxury hotel in Sydney. Paid 22.00 for cereal breakfast in the restaraunt because my daughter wanted cereal and they only offered a continental 22.00 or hot 24.00 buffet breakfast. No a la carte items offered for breakfast! On a positive note, the bunkroom and bathroom (my room did have a bathroom) was very clean.

Our room was great and much better then we expected. Still very pricey for what you are getting, especially food, but it was a very pleasent place to stay. Their bathroom products smell great!

it's the party place in town, so quiet nights don't come easy (interesting, especially considering most guest rise early for an uluru sunrise view!) having said that, it's surely the cheapest place to stay, which seemingly hordes of backpackers have realised. it's a nice "open air" hostel overall and also offers some quieter lodging options with pivate clean bathrooms for families and couples.
