Palm Royale Cairns

This hotel is in the suburbs of Cairns, near a shopping centre with some fast food as well as other eating places within 150m walk. I have always found the rooms to be clean and providing basic motel equipment such as a safe, iron and ironing board, toiletries, tea/coffee, air con etc - all for a very reasonable price. It is probably best to have your own transport, though city buses are very close, and the hotel offers a shuttle service. Staff at reception have always been very friendly and helpful.

Helpful staff, Rooms/furniture clean and in very good condition. Location at least 10 mins from town - a consideration if you don't have your own transport. I would recommend to others.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. We particularly liked the beautiful view of the pools and the palm trees. Everything was clean and the rooms were spacious enough. We stayed in a triple and a double room. The only drawback was that it is a bit far from the CBD, but they provide a shuttle bus to the airport and downtown. We would certainly stay there again.

Great price, room fine, facilities very good, just not close to downtown but that was OK for us.

I regret that we had a possibility to stay there just for one night. Very good room for this price.

The room was well sized and had good basic in room facilities, the bathroom was a great size with very high cleanliness. The only down side was the pool view room was not in easy view of the pool.

We just needed an overnight stay. The outside didn't impress, but the room was clean and comfortable and the right price!

The staff at the reception desk were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and tidy. Through Rate To Go everything were well organised and the staff at Palm Royale met all our requirements. I will definitely use RTG next time I am travelling to Cairns or elsewhere in Australia.

I thought this hotel was great value for money and would highly recommend it to others.

A large complex that accomodates a lot of people. The guy at reception when booking in was great and made you feel welcome. Staff were exceptional. Reasonable priced quad room. King bed very comfortable. The only minor problem was the very limited parking available, other than that we would stay again.

Room was quiet and overlooking the pool. Reception staff very helpful. Unfortunately no restaurant facilities at night (Monday)

My wife and I regularly stay at different motels throughout the country. Eventhough we found that the motel was a little dated, the room provided was excellent. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The view from the gound balconey to the pool was lovely. The motel was handy to the local shopping centre and pub. The price for the room was excellent value. I would recommend others to stay there. The only complaint I have is the front counter manager could be a little more friendly than he was, and not very helful unfortunately. Not like some other acccomodation we have stayed like the Radisson, we staff are always friendly and eager to please their staying guests. I also would also like to see some facility for breakfast / buffey for guests that can be purchased. I don't know if there was this facility for guest as no mention was made to us at anytime. Apart from that I would be happy to stay again. Thankyou.

Comfortable but 'tired' accommodation and not central. Helpful staff and offers good value. Pool area very good. Lack of convenient parking is the only significant downside of staying here.

Unfortunately the beds have worn considerably since our last visit (which was excellent). An adult movie was playing when our young children (in our Family Quad room) turned on the TV. These are images they had not seen before and I can't take back so I was very angry. The Hotel apologised and fixed it immediately but I feel it was a unreasonable oversight given I had booked the room for 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 10. Also the non smoking room smelt like stale smoke although the air conditioner masked it once we were inside. A disappointing visit compared to our last visit, which was amazing value.

We encounted no problems while staying at the Palm Royal Cairns. The shuttle bus was easy and we once had staff order taxi for us to attend a wedding. It arrived right on time. The hotel was clean and kids loved the pool being so close to our rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly. I would certainly stay there again.

The room looked a lot bigger in the photo than it did when we arrived but apart from that it was quite satisfactory. A bit far from the city so it would be good to have a car but I did see the bus service going quite regularly. Overall, pretty satisfied. It's good if you want to be out of the way and there's a shopping mall across the road if you needed to get supplies.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and very much enjoyed our stay. The staff, from Housekeeping to Reception, were very helpful and patient. The pools and poolside set-up were wonderful. The only things we could report on the downside for this hotel were:#1: the fact that it was situated a few kilometers from the Esplanade and CBD, but a bus was provided direct from the hotel for $3 each way. #2: our romm backed onto a busy street that seemed to have traffic all night long.#3:there was only breakfast offered on-site, and if you didn't have a car, like us, the closest place to get food was the Raintree shopping area across the street, which closed by 5:30 except for the pub whose food service was closed the nights we were there, and a Subway, where we ended up eating supper.
