Papageno Hotel Vienna

I have stayed in the Papageno twice. Location and pricing are very good points as it's easy walking distance into the first district (old city) without anything like first district pricing. There is no air conditioning. So I had to leave the windows open. But there is a noisy compressor outside the window. This did not bother me. But if you can't ignore it you will be upset. Only one lift to cover the 7 floors so if you just miss you will be annoyed as well. At breakfast the scrambled eggs were tasteless. Service bad because they don't man the front desk properly. I was kept waiting for a considerable time twice.

The breakfast was absolutely fantastic - 5 star, and the staff kept it fully replenished. Desk staff were helpful, and assisted in bookings for restaurants etc. The location is in a suburban area, but you can walk to the opera in about 15 minutes, or less time if you catch the tram. Room was small, but the bathroom was a good size and with ultra modern fittings. I felt the hotel was a little overpriced - and the photos on the web page are for the top end rooms - although our accomodation was of a good standard.

WE were lucky enough to get one of their newly furbished rooms. Great place, good price you can walk to the Opera house in 5 minutes.

We were very satisfied with the location of the hotel and the services. Hotel room was clean and good furnished. I feel there, that I'm really in Wien. If you would like to park your car, take immediately a garage for EUR 20. We had a problem to find a parking place on the street. If you are looking for good hotel with fine location, this is one of the best choices.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good location within walking distance of the main city centre highlights - cathedral, Hofburg, Opera, Spanish Riding School etc. Metro station was 5 minutes from the hotel.

A smallish almost quaint hotel a short walk to old city. Well finished comfortable room if a little odd shaped. Couteous, friendly staff. Lots of nice little touches.

The staff at the Papageno were excellent. The hotel is located just outside the city centre but is an easy walk in. Very good breakfast. Very good accommodation. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Friendly and helpful receptionist - breakfast very good and within easy walking distance to museums, opera house, shopping etc. Would recommend this place for sure.

Services offerred by the front desk officers are top class, very pleasant and helpful.

Pretty good location, 2 blocks from metro stop, then 2 stops into town.

The service was excellent. The people working there were all very nice. There is an internet connection in the lobby which was helpful. It is very close to the center and was in a close proximity to a supermarket as well.

24 hrs service was very helpful for getting any information about cultural program and tourist facilities. Close to town centre and good connection to airport city train

We were pleasently surprised with the kindness of the staff and we recomend this hotel to anyone who would like to enjoy Wiena and it's people. It's nice hotel in the centre of the city (with just a few minutes of walking), with good food, good facilities, kind staff and nice rooms.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

The hotel staff were very helpful. The location is excellent - close to Ubahn and the Innerstadt. I look forward to a return visit.

This was a great hotel in a great location. As we walked up to the reception desk, we received a big smile, the offer to speak in English. The great, friendly service continued throughout our stay.

We were on the 5th floor and had a wonderful view of Vienna. The hotel room is spotless and elegantly furnished. The bathroom was very large and clean. Breakfast was scrumptious and more importantly the staff was very friendly and helpful. We truely enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Excellent staff. I would come back when I return to Vienna.
