i have stayed at this hotel several times over the last six months for work.if you book online you can get discount.I think it is a great hotel very large with excellent staff, and 5 minutes from city centre.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Paragon,it was perfect for our needs of somewhere to stay after a night out in Birmingham!! It was followed by a very welcomed excellent breakfast!!
10-15 min walk from bullroom. Was busy when we stayed but it was one of best breakfasts we have had in a hotel of this class
walking distanc from the city 10-15 minutes. helpful staff, quiet location
very nice hotel ,lots of nice things as the hotel is over one hundred years old ,yes and we will go back
i have stayed at the paragon for nearly 18 years now and love it ! the staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are always clean and warm ,the breakfast never fails to please us ,as we are a group of women aged between 45 and 55 we feel very safe in the paragon if you have any queries you just have to ring recepition and its dealt with immediately i do hope to be staying there for the next few years and could reccomend it to anyone it might not be fancy or in a fancy part of town but its homely and clean and thats wat counts wen you are away from home ,special mention to nick and the recepition staff also the waitress on bfast duty grace denny (ni)
A very clean and friendly hotel. Breakfast was very good and was a very reasonable price £6 95 with avery large choice. The rooms were a little on the small side but ok although the bathroom was a little on the worn side. I will stay again.
You get exactly what you pay for this has been my 6th stay and its as good as it gets for the price
The hotel met my expectations in most respects, and was good value for money. However, I would suggest that the outdoor smoking area is moved to a place where the smoke doesn't rise through the windows of nearby bedrooms. Also, it is unpleasant to have to pass through groups of smokers huddled together outside the main doors. Other than that, I would recommend the hotel.
Room's in need of a lick of paint and a make over.
Very good value for money in terms of location and inclusion of breakfast. Not very attractive on the inside, but if you just want a cheap room close to the city then this place is fine.
Not a great location but handy for the city and attractions. Shabby-chic at a good budget price with a great breakfast!
not the greatest hotel ever but it did the job perfectly
Well placed in the city, the hotel has improved a lot. The service ,food and bar have always been good and now the rooms have been given a make-over it is excellent value. Ask for a room near the lift if you have a problem walking as it is a large hotel .
If you want a cheap clean hotel to put your head down for the night then this is for you but if you want 5 star luxury then give this hotel a miss.
I got upgraded to one of the refurbed room. The decor is better than my previous experience, but the bathrooms didnt seem to be that upgraded and not clean in corners etc. needs spruced up. That aside, i would DEFINATELY stay here again. Its excellent value for Birmingham and only a couple of quid in a taxi to New Steet. During the day you can walk to Selfridges etc in about 10 mins? Its really good value for somewhere to lay your head.
VERY UNCOMFORTABLE BED! I had springs sticking into me where they hadn't collapsed, could feed the wood in the ensemble below. Generally nice otherwise. Little bit run down. Mould in shower but otherwise clean.
very good value for money, and an excelent location.
not bad for the price but definitely a no-frills experience as we were staying in one of the rooms that have yet to be renovated. the bathroom facilities are very basic and the mildew in the shower left much to be desired. But the bed was comfortable. It's not in a grand location but is only 5 minutes from Digbeth and a little further to the Bullring, so considering the price (£25 a night) it's very convenient, plus there's parking!
For the price this was a reasonable place to stay and within easy reach of the city centre. Only real downside was its location.
