170 Nanjing Road West, Shanghai, China, 200003
Since its opening in the early 1930s, the Park Hotel has been seen as the city's focus, located at the 'Zero Center Point of Shanghai'. The tallest building in the city for more than half a century, today the Park Hotel is an iconic international hotel. Its history and elegance combine with a proximity to the city's most important business and tourism landmarks - something that few other Shanghai hotels can match. The quiet and comfortable atmosphere inside the Park Hotel's tastefully appointed rooms and suites lets you forget the bustling modern city just outside its doors. A short walk takes you to Nanjing Lu Pedestrian Shopping Street, People's Square, Shanghai Museum and many other must-see Shanghai attractions.

The wait staff did not know that a sandwich could be ordered in the lobby bar. The sandwich was on the lobby bar menu. The staff could not be bothered to call a cab. They were also unfamiliar with the city. Overall a great hotel with useless staff. If you know what you want to do in Shanghai and do not need anything from the hotel staff, I would recommend this hotel.
Hotel Location was very central, short walk to either side of the popular Nanjing Road East or West where most of the shops, restaurants are. There is a Metro station just across where the park is which makes it even more convenient. Services rendered were reasonable of a 4 star. The only setback encountered was the occasional disruption of Hot water supply to the room and the price for a small cup of coffee at the hotel coffee shop was way too expensive at 45 RMB. Quite possibly would choose to stay again on a revisit to Shanghai.

excellent location, right on subway station and plenty of taxis available in peoples square. Nanking road shopping and food right on your doorstep. Hotel is a bit old but understandable as it is an old heritage hotel. facilities are limited and no room service menu so probably no room service!
An excellent hotel in every way - the room was lovely, the location central and the staff friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was that the bar was closed for renovation. But I would certainly stay here again.
Exellent location right in the middle of things in central Shanghai. Good public transport, you can reach the int'l airport in Pudong in 40 mins from hotel using subway and MagLev train. Both Shanghai's train stations are a few subway stops away. Staff speaks satisfactory English and is very helpful. Art Deco furnishings in the lobby area look good. I got an upgrade to superior room without even asking.
Classic atmosphere and good value for the price. I cannot recommend the breakfast, only coffee, grapefruit juice and nudels are good.
The rooms are reasonably sized.
It's nice to stay in an old hotel where you can feel like it would probably have been in the old days. However, the carpet was not so clean, the sanitary neighter and it was too hot in the rooms (airco was not functionning well). Most of all, I find it unbelievable that there was a surcharge for the use of the internet connection, even if it's perhaps only 100 RMB per day, nowadays for such a hotel (and price) it should be for free in each room !!
This hotel is a very classic hotel in Shanghai, very good location and nice buildind, but because the age of the building the rooms seems to be dirty and very old, it seems something like the hotel of the twilight zone , just a steps ahead you have the radisson hotel which is very pretty and not that expensive it has a lovely bar in the 47 floor. The Grand hotel dont provide very quialified staff they dont speak english and also the bell boys would not help you, they just want money! if you ask for a taxi they will get money from you!! its crazy. If you dont have othe better option stay here its nice , nioce location and nice building, it an average good hotel, but if you are able to spend just a few more stay withouts doubt at the radisson 2 minutes from there!.
It was impossible to find a quiet room in this hotel. The room in the 3rd floor was to noisy from the street. After changing the room (the staff was helpful), we stayed in the 13th floor. Both nights with a wedding party on the floor and the night ended at 7am because of the trouble and rumour from above (restaurant in 14th floor). Only good thing of this hotel is the location.
This hotel is fantastic for the mid to near top end market business traveller . The rooms were nice with a table and cost effective broadband. The room rate had breakfast included which was great with lots of good variety. The location was central and there are some great malls close by. The hotel has good service with an attendant on each floor. Service is good and the hotel is reccomended. I would stay there again.
