The Parnell City Lodge is a unique mix of 22 cosy Edwardian rooms and contemporary and was originally built in 1914 as a Grand gentlemans residence for a local showman. At a much later date it was converted into a travellers accommodation and an apartment wing was added to the complex but the classic features of the historical building have been retained. The combination of the new and old makes the Parnell City Lodge the perfect place to stay while in Auckland, whether your visit is for business or pleasure. For those busy travellers who would prefer to take advantage of the local restaurants, the Studio Rooms may be the preferred option. Getting there:We are located on the corner of St Stephens Ave and Parnell Rd. Taxis cost approximately NZ$45.00 - NZ$60.00 Comming from the North and South: Take exit 429 C (Port) Immediately turn right into Parnel Road. You will find us on the top of the hill on the left side just before the traffic lights. Corner of the second set of traffic lights, St Stephens Ave and Parnell Rd. The right-hand lane allows you to drive straight into our driveway.

I arrived late on a Sunday. The staff went out of their way to help me in every way. I have travelled for many years and for customer service , it was outstanding. Great location also. Really recommend it.

An older establishment looking a bit tired from the outside, however, the room was clean,comfortable and well presented, the location is ideal being close to excellent restaurants with a bus stop near by. Overall a good budget hotel.
Smallish rooms but great for access to good eating and downtown Auckland.

Great place in one of Auckland's best suburbs. Rooms very clean. Link bus stops outside motel, and it's only 5 minutes to the Auckland Museum and other attractions. Would definitely stay here again!
Very roomy and well positioned - handy to Newmarket and Auckland centre
The room we stayed in was partly refurbished and is quite adequate. For a reasonable handy place to stay the Parnell Village Lodge is fine. The bathroom and carpet were new - it was a shame the bed linen wasn't the same. Was good to have parking. I would stay there again.
Simple motel, but stunning location. Out of the drab city and in one of Aucklands more exciting neighbourhoods. Great nightlife in Parnell and a nice place to shop or enjoy a leisurely Sunday brunch.
Fantastic place to stay, we were so central to all the happenings with the wedding that it just made life so much easier Great room, nice to be back off the road. Only comment... is that it would have been great to have a bedside light!
The room itself was dark and seemingly uncared for. The idea appeared to be "antique" styling although the overall effect was that it had not been renovated since at least the 1960's
By no means flash, older style furniture and bathroom made it feel more like staying at an elderly aunties home. But right in the center of parnell with so many great restaurants nearby and very good value for money plus off street parking you can't really knock it.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Location is not in the downtown/harbour area of the city, but is in a prime location if you are into cafes, boutique shopping etc. Bus runs frequently and reliable from outside the Motor Lodge to downtown and other tourist attractions. Great place to go for walks from. Drawback - old building so sound is not muffled at all. Both neighbouring rooms and outside traffic clearly heard in the room. Bed comfortable.
Facilities a bit run-down. The actual accomodation did not line up too well against the website.
We appreciated the space in our unit and found it warmer and quieter than we had expected. It was comfortable and well-equipped. We missed having an electric blanket, but the shower was instantly hot - no waiting for the cold to run through first. Thank you.
good facilities and wonderfully handy to walk to our course and into the village. We are from the country so did find the traffic very noisy as the road is right outside.
Room was fairly basic and a bit "tired" but clean. Great location and priced reasonably. Management very helpful. Good eating places very close by.
