PATTAWIA RESORT & SPA HUA - HIN

"Looking for relaxing, it's better than the Hotel next door, Evason, fewer people. For facility and Restaurants, you may look for Evason (4star, not the 5star which is further away). The location is not good, it is sea side, but no beach. Only for pool side relaxing, it is good as it has a very nice pool, better than the hotels nearby. The photos show here is what we saw there. "Don''t stay here if you''re looking for a beach paradise experience in Thailand. The sea comes right up to the wall and you can''t swim, and there is a dirt track road between the sea and the hotel. It''s a 25km taxi or tuktuk ride from Hua Hin train station which could cost you 5-600Baht and many of the taxis hadn''t heard of the place. When we stayed there the only other guests were a large corporate party who were served drinks round the pool to 2.30am. We complained 3 times about the noise to no effect. There''s no atmosphere in the bar or restaurant, probably because it''s so far from town. However, if you want a real getaway (without beach) it''s a truly beautiful pool and we did enjoy lounging and swimming there (despite the late night!) " - Anonymous

"In the details supplied on your (and others) web site there is no mention of the remoteness of the resort from any mainstream areas. The local restaurants (that's being kind) served very poor quality food, mainly Thai, and first time visitors must think 'what's so special about Thai food"!! The local bars (2) did not fair much better. We were lucky as we live in Thailand and have our own transport, without this the holiday would have been very boring. On the good side during the day the remoteness was appreciated and the hotel pool good. Overall we enjoyed our stay, mainly thanks for our own transport. " - Mark elliott

"The setting is beautifully located by the sea. Luckily they have a free shuttle service four times a day to Hua Hin - otherwise you have to pay around 400 Baht to get into town. " - Orley Granot
