Very friendly staff who speak good English. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable room with double glazing to effectively cutdown traffic noise. Tram stop just outside hotel. Very good value in an expensive city.
Very clean, very comfortable bed, quality linen on both the bed and tablecloths at breakfast. Buffet breakfast had nice cheeses, cold meats, pate, fruit, yoghurt, muesli, good bread rolls and pastries and the perfect music playing at the right volume. Room was spacious and like new. The only sign that anyone had been in the room before me was a couple of little marks on the wall behind the luggage stand. Excellent hotel at very good price. Would stay there again in a flash.

Stayed for 3 nights at Pension Excellence, which I chose for good location and very reasonable price. Bathroom was clean and the room reasonably clean, except for curtains that should have been washed a year ago. There is a lot of noise from the street, so do bring your earplugs, they certainly saved me. Other than that, a great place if you are on a budget but still want to stay close to the city center.
excellent. right in the hearth of Vienna.
Perhaps too much noise since we were on a busy street. Had trouble regulating the heat and had to open window. A couple of lightbulbs out. Maybe napkins and paper towels in kitchen area would help (forgot to buy them). Otherwise great and we will recommend.
It is difficult for me to rate with the above questionaire Pension Excellence because I had an apartment witnout service. But I was very pleased to be there and I can recommend it.
Our double room was a bit small with a window on the street side. However, the room was very clean. Breakfast was also very good. There is a tram stop just outside the hotel, which makes transportation easy. I would recommend this hotel and would definately stay there again.
Rooms were a little on the small side but quite comfortable. It was close to local transport and once we figured out the system was really easy and quick to use. Lovely restuarent just around the corner - authentic local cuisine!
My room did not have any ventilation. It was not possible to open the widow because street is too noisy. Thus Icould not recomend this _pension_ for a good night rest in hot summer time :(
The room was a little on the small side and very basic but was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were good and reception was friendly and helpful.
Fine pension. Good price. A bit noisy due to trams on Alserstrasse. Maybe rooms that don't have windows on the street side are better.
Spacious apartment and very large bathroom and kitchenette.A bit far from town, but on tram route.Good facilities for cooking although breakfast was available for extra cost.
The room was quite modern, but could use some basic maintenance (for example, one of the skirting boards was no longer nailed in and kept popping off the wall). Location wise it is hard to beat, on a major tram line not far from the city centre and metro services. There is also a supermarket very close as well. A nice hotel that we would stay at again.
The hotel is in an excellent location, on a major tram line with a supermarket close by. The room was good and relatively clean, although could use some basic maintenance. The breakfast was a basic continental and adequate, but not worth paying 9 euros for if it is not included. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would return again, mainly because of the great location.
I booked this hotel last minute and was expecting the worst given the price. When I arrived from Graz by train in the pouring rain and had to locate the hotel I couldn't believe how good the location was (in relation to the old city) but was still expecting something one might get in Paris for the same price. I was really pleasantly surprised by every aspect of this hotel. Rooms are small, but very functional, clean, and modern. Staff are very friendly without being overbearing. Most importantly for me, coffee was freshly brewed by someone with a smiling face each morning!! My eyes could bearly open enough to appreciate this for the first cup, but by the third, I was wide awake.... I would go back there any time and my only regret was that I only had 2 nights. Nevertheless, that is a big regret.
M... was excellent from answering my e-mail questions to also help me when my credit card did not work right when the female who worked the day before refused to do. It took him a few minutes to call the American Express and the problem was solved when the other one told me to go to my room and call myself. No soap to wash had to ask. Breakfast waitresses were very good for services.
Staff were cheerful and helpful with good English, computers in reception free to use if you didn't take yours, room was quite basic but clean and had everything you'd need. It's a fair walk from the Underground especially if you have a lot of luggage, so perhaps check out the tram which stops across the road. Also reception is on the 2nd floor of the building (it doesn't tell you that when you set off up the stairs), so take the lift!
The hotel is a a bit old fashioned but very well placed in the city center
Was noisy in the front road facing rooms with the trams & traffic (trams handy for getting about)we upgraded although we thought we had already booked the superior room. A very big city so - ok location with shops.
Decor a bit dated, staff helpful, location is great and we would stay here again.
