Peppers Anchorage Port Stephens Resort Guest Reviews

4.2 out of 5

Staff need to be careful about the number of people staying in the room and provide enough complimentary snacks, towels etc.

4 out of 5

Inconvenient in wet weather as facilities are in separate buildings. No refridgerator in the room was a disappointing.

This hotel has an excellent location and the overall design and layout is a refreshing change from the usual box rooms in box of a building. The room was spacious and clean albeit somewhat tired. Dinner was good and reasonable value for money. However, the continental breakfast buffet at $28 a head and absolutely zero service (even make your own coffee) was a definite rip-off. It’s a pity that Peppers so deliberately managed to shoot themselves in the foot – I would now think twice before returning.

Arrived just prior to midday, was advised due to a large booking our room was not ready and we sat in the bar overlooking the bay and had a drink, exceptional, attentive service. By 3pm our room was ready and we were a little anxious as we had anticipated check in at 2pm. Room was spacious and very comfortable. We had the breakfast the first morning which had great variety and was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the hour facial, absolutely refreshing and was catered to on a personal level. Highly recommended. Dinner in Merrets restaurant was one of the highlights of the stay and after having 2 courses we were quite satisfied and would have loved to have had dessert had we not been so full from the previous courses. The quality of the food was excellent.

Great location, very relaxing, a pool that is actually heated so you can swim in it. Only problem was there was no fridge in room ,only a cooler which does not keep anything cold. Lots a lovely walking paths along beach close by.

We enjoyed our stay although the menu is quite limited and i believe overpriced. room service was lousy ( they forgot cutlery, plus what goes with the ordered dish), and the caesars salad was awful. took us a while to check out early because there was no one at reception. i still rate it 8 out of 10 though because of the beautiful views and facilities. i think they should maintain their facilities and improve service to keep a 4.5 star rating.

hotel located in a beuatiful marina with good beaches and walks close by. Meals at the hotel were very expensive but there were other restaurants in the area, but meant driving

Overall ok, wouldn't say it was a fantastic hotel. Overpriced for what it is. Staff were great, particularly the barman. Loved the sauna.

The location and room itselft are 5 star. Suitable for romantic occation. However, customer service at reception and elsewhere require further improvements. Food is average.

The resort is a little tired and needs a face lift .. the pool area is too small and overcrowded and the restaurant although service is very good the menu needs to be a liitle more extensive. You would also benefit from providing a change from the standard dinner menu ..perhaps nightly specials . We found that due to the menu being limited and the same every night .. we travelled into town for dinner. Had we been offered different menu options, we would have dined at the resort for the duration of our stay.

Excellent hotel in a beautiful position. Couldn't fault our room which overlooked the harbour. However the restaurant and meals were slightly disappointing, we expected it to be more up market, but overall would stay there again.

very nice place to stay if only it was in a better location. all that is there is a marina. it is a 5-10 minute drive to nelsons bay and even longer to get to a decent beach to swim at. The bay where the resort is located is not nice to swim in.

It was a lovely hotel in a beautiful location, but I somehow expected just a little bit more for the price of the rooms. The mini-bar drinks were expensive, breakfast was not included and I've been asked to pay the postage on sending back a lipgloss that I left in the room. But musn't grumble - Port Stephens is lovely and the hotel is right on the water with views over the marina.
