Hotel location was not very convenient. Rooms were just desirable. Breakfast was very good and the hotel staff very courteous and helpful.
The hotel was very good, clean, nicely decorated, the staff was friendly too. So if I have to return to Singapore I will definitely stay again in Perak Hotel.
Good location and friendly staff
Small family run hotel, good location, great online price
The hotel is good at its service, we arrive in the hotel at 8:00am, and asked for the early check-in, the reception agreed to do so. It gave us a big help after our long trip. They even provide free breakfast for us. The location is alright, take forty minutes to airport by MRT. The room is tiny, but it's ok for sleep purpose.
Nice place and friendly staff, although the room is small considering the room charge.
I stayed at this hotel for second time in three months, and again found the staff to be very friendly and supportive. I arrived after an overnight flight and they let me check into the room six hrs ahead of regular check-in time, at no extra cost. They willingly provided local advice on locations and shopping. The homely setting completed the experience!
We were a bit early for check in at 10am and we did not expect to have a room ready. Service at reception was very good and friendly. He asked if we had had breakfast, and told us to help ourselves even though we had not yet checked in. We did so and also had the use of the free internet. The hotel is quite close to the Little India train station on the North East line to the airport. Also a short walk to the Bugis area. Breakfast was okay and we were quite happy with our one night stay.
I spent a comfortable night in this value-for-money hotel in the heart of Little India and very close to key shopping areas. The most endearing aspects to me were its good location, old world charm and friendly staff. Free Wifi worked in my first floor room. Everything was as advertised. And the breakfast was good too. I will stay here again.
Cute, comfortable and exceedingly friendly service. The traditional building is beautiful but makes for a noisy environment with hard wood floors and thin walls and ceilings. My room faced the street and could hear anything happening outside, luckily it is a quiet street. However, i was up at 6am, but imagine this wouldn't be the place if you like to sleep in. The price is only reasonable if you enjoy the more homely feel and the historical nature of the building. Otherwise, you only need to pay a little bit more for other hotels in the same area and get a lot more comfort and style.
- Very good and supportive service from the service desk. - Good interior environment and good for relax tours - Provided with free wifi at open areas and computer terminals at SG$2/15min. Of course you can find a Internet bar at SG$1/hour nearby - Noise from the bars nearby for some rooms till midnights. - Some facilities such as irons and hair-dryers are not available in the room by default but provided upon request at the service desk.
An absolutely brilliant find. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, very quick to adress any problems we presented them with. Pick up from the airport well worth the $15.00 . Due to delayed flight for one of our party kept the driver waiting an extra half hour..no problem at all. He was great about it. Changed rooms three times (no problems with the rooms, just after trips away from hanoi) and each new room was clean, bright and a good size - great value for money...location was brilliant too.Love the area..rooms from level 3 upwards had no noise problem at all.never tried level 2. Breakfast was good too. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and it's staff to anyone
The staff were very courteous and helpful. My room was clean with all services working. I checked out and had left my webcam in my room. When I rang back a day later they had it and I was able to go over and collect it. Very pleased to get it back.
Great little hotel in the middle of the bustle of Little India.
A delightful hotel; lovely people.
A beautifully restored building with lots of character and very clean .The superior room was not big but was tastefully and simply presented and had glass double doors with traditional shutters which couldn't be opened, and an adequate bathroom and good airconditioner. A little bit noisy from the street - the local mosque's call to prayer for example, but its location is the big attraction, as you walk out into the sights and sounds and lovely smells of Little India. Great food at bargain prices a few steps away. Location also good for metro and bus, and many adjacent suburbs are interesting to walk around. Breakfast is fruit, juice, hot drinks, toast and cooked eggs or noodles in dining area. also used for a lounge. Staff are helpful. I would certainly stay there again - lots of atmosphere and excellent location. You really felt you were somewhere different.
Hotel is close to a mosque so be prepared to be wakened by the call to prayers just before dawn.
Staff were very, very helpful. I arrived early in the a.m and my reservation was just as I had requested. The night receptionist was very happy to answer my shopping questions even at 3am! It was wonderful to find tea bags and coffee on a tray beside an electric jug and two noodle snack cups..there was a flat screen tv and the bed linen was divine!Breakfast was plentiful and the room lovely! It was good to have a hospitality bathroom to have a shower in the evening before I flew.. I would certainly recommend this charming little hotel..
We did not know at the time of booking but we arrived , on the busiest night of celebration for the year in Little India , what a night, a street gathering /party of tens of thousands ,celebrating a festival of light and there we were in a very clean and central but quiet hotel , I would definitely stay here again . Staff were very helpful . Easy walk to the train to the airport . My wife had not so great expectations but was straight away pleased /impressed on our arrival . The room was small but tidy ,and we were happy it was a smoke free premises = big bonus .
The service was very good and the people working at the hotel were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
