Well located, friendly hotel with small rooms but huge bathrooms. Most of the rooms face the street which can be very noisy until early morning. This area is the heart of "gay" Madrid, we did not realize that when we booked and it was not an issue, but if you are hot comfortable with it you should look elsewhere in Madrid. Unfortunately we had to change rooms because our bathroom had a terrible smell. The new room did not have this issue, but the bathrooms take up the largest space in the room so it is difficult to get around the bed or move about the room itself. Did not have the breakfast so can't comment on that but it sure smelt appetizing. If I were to return to Madrid I would NOT stay here again.

Despite comments on other sites, we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We did not get any problems with noise that others mentioned. There were a few sites to be seen on the streets late at night, but it still felt safer than London. Rooms still have the glass wall on the bathroom that others have complained about but at least they have now put a stick on picture over them. The room had a computer with internet access which was good, and the connection speed was also good. The TV was only in Spanish but other rooms did have cable for other languages. Breakfast is expensive at 12 Euros, so we ate out. The location was excellent. It was possible to walk to all the major sites such as the Prado Art Gallery, Botanical Gardens, Atocha Rail Station, Reina Sofia Art Gallery, Retiro Park. You are also right by Gran Via Metro station so it is easy to get to other sites such as the Natural History Museum.

We couldnt turn off the light in the bathroom for 2 days as the switch is hidden so no one can find it. That's what I call "HIGH TECH" :) Anyway the hotel is very good located, 1 step from Gran Via and Metro station, 5 minutes from the Sol.

The staft of the hotel is very professional and helpful. Their role was important to make my stay even more pleasant. The Manager of the hotel at times was also caring for his guests at the front desk.I will certaintly return to the hotel one day.

The location of the hotel is fantastic (almost next to Sol, and at the beginning of Chueca), but therefore you have to put up with the street noise of Gran Via. Get a room as far away possible from the elevator! Our room was next to it, and from 7 a.m., all we heard was the noise of the elevator and sounds of the staircase next to it echooing the elevator waking us up. The free internet access at the ground floor was a very nice bonus.

A splendid breakfast is served. The only negativ thing was the noise of the china in the breakfast room.

Great location. Family friendly accommodations. Front rooms give great views to Gran Via, but the street noise can be irritating.

Hated the fact that I had to ring the night bell to come in - surely with swipe card keys i could gain legitimate access this way? Hot Items in Breakfast were often cold.

Well located on Gran Via near Chueca. Lift didn't work and computer was down. Black out too. Coffee jug broken. Hydroshower wasn't too hydro. Service was bit slow.

Excellent location, many important tourist sites, real tapas bars and the Metro on the doorstep. Buffet breakfast was one of the finest I've had (proper fresh quality food, and staff checking it was OK regularly). The people at the front desk made a real effort to save us money, without being promted. The only slightly negative point was that the noise from other guests was rather obvious; no big deal. My girlfriend's first visit to continental Europe... she loved it.

Stayed Nov.03. Very close to metro station. Still undergoing refurbishment. Difficult for cleaners to keep plaster dust from lift and corridors (despite good efforts). Breakfast good, in very simple and modern room. Room good for price range but no view of any sort. Worth asking for an "habitación exterior" at booking time. Good bed & lighting, enough storage, good shower. Modern design at an affordable price. No instructions of any kind (ie for outside line).

Room was decent size, bathroom and shower great, staff responsive. Breakfast (continental) was very good, and internet access worked flawlessly and fast (but bring your own ethernet cable!). Some of my colleagues noted that the rooms on the lower floors could be a bit noisy due to street traffic. Location is right on top of Gran Via metro, couldn't be more convenient.

Funky modern accomodation, in the cultural heart of Madrid. Eighteenth century facade with iKEAish room decor, romantic cast iron elevator and helpful happy staff. Walk anywhere, see everything. Perfect and affordable.
