The Petit Palace Ópera Garden is a boutique hotel situated on calle Boquería, round the corner from Ramblas 78, across from the Gran Teatro del Liceo. It is in the middle of the Barrio Gótico district, close to the cathedral and the Mercado de la Boquería and only a few minutes from the Olympic Harbour and the beach. The hotel occupies an old building that has been fully remodelled. A "high tec" hotel with a space age shower and lovely ensuite, but we had hot water one day out of six!. The staff are welcoming and do their best - there just are not enough of them. Breakfast is quite good but not cheap. For the price we expected a little more, especially hot water. Location is OK, very handy to central attractions. Nice garden at the rear - no service out there though. Would go back if hot water can be guaranteed.

This hotel has decent-sized rooms and is ideally situated just 40m from La Rambla. Nice and quiet (we had a room facing the back) and a comfortable bed (if you like things on the firm side). The laptop supplied with the room worked well. Some things a little too "high tech" for their own good; the shower was a mystery and the roomsafe didn't work at all. Otherwise a very good place to stay.
Located right on the Ramblas.Modern style rooms-however rooms/walls looking grubby after only being open 6 mths.Shower was excellent,king size bed but walls very thin and noise level/privacy suffer accordingly.Staff friendly-laptop in room was good.
Brilliant location just off Ramblas. Nice big beds. Breakfast is a bit disappointing, but is okay.
Would use this hotel again
This hotel is surprisingly quiet inside. Especially knowing that it is located at only 50 meters from the very noisy Ramblas. It is the ideal place to recognise the old town of Barcelona even by foot.
Rooms were tastefully modern decorated, but a bit small (no place to put our suitcase). Nice atmosphere, good breakfast.
