great location very close to Plaza Mayor. hotel feels 'new'. breakfasts excellent and filling. front desk is very helpful. rooms not large (but probably typical for central Madrid) but still do the job nicely. laptops in the room, free to use, are a useful feature.
Room nice but very small. Good facilities including laptop with free internet in the room, and the shower was good. Excellent location very close to the SOL Metro station.
We enjoy very much staying in this hotel. The location is excelent.
Lovely clean hotel, location is second to none. Desk staff always pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend for a city break.
We had a wonderful time in the middle of Madrid. Our hotel was in the centre of everything in Madrid. Close to shops, restaurants, bars, interesting sights and Metro stations.
had read all the reviews about this hotel. agreed with all of them. it was a good location with a small bedroom. bath room odd shower splattered all over the place sink too modern for shaving. breakfast very good. Need to have the correct adddress of hotel as taxi drivers wont know where to find it. moira reck ireland 1st march 2007
Very friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was excellent. 100 metre walk to taxi. Situated 200 metres from Puerta Sol.
The location of the hotel is very good just a short walk to the Plaza Mayor and also central to shops etc. The breakfast in the hotel is varied so will appeal to different nationalities.
We just returned from Madrid after staying in the hotel for two nights. This is a very good hotel, extremely well located in the center of Madrid, almost at the Paza Mayor. Small but pleasant room, very good breakfast buffet and friendly staff. However, I would certainly not rate this hotel as a four star hotel (three stars are sufficient). I could definitely recommend the hotel when you are looking for a not too expensive, very central place to stay in the heart of Madrid. It's great value for money: we paid 108 euro incl. breakfast for 2 persons per night. Erik (from Holland)
breakfast exellent. staff didnt speak much english,so questions were not really understood but they did tryto help.carpet in room was stained by leakage from bathroom which really detracted from look of cleanliness in room.safe did not work and could not be repaired during our stay(3 nights)however we could put papers in hotel safe but had to carry money etc with us---not so handy in madrid.
Very nice place and very nice location.
Bathroom design is clever but not practical with no ventilation or privacy. Basins do not drain of water. Rooms are small. Location is excellent and service was fine.
Great location! Didn't manage to find the basement bar, as indicated in the lobby. Family room was super, if a tad cramped. Breakfast was a huge plus. Reception staff were obliging, but a request to book a table at restaurant failed (not their fault) but we were not informed as promised and waited & waited, until we eventually decided to go looking ourselves. It's not much fun looking for a table in Madrid late on a Friday night. Minor quibbles though, to be fair. We'd stay there again.
Although the hotel was central and clean, I was dispointed that there was no Bar or Restuarant facilities as stated on wedsite. We also had to change rooms as there was a musty smell in one room and the other room was very small with only a small window and no fresh air.
Great Old Quarter location. Modern, corner roomy room with 2 views. Hard flat mattresses were perfect for us. Friendly staff. Great breakfast with 2 laptops and internet for your use. Even though Peine is on a walk street beware of night noise. Madrid likes it late. AC was not so good thus our balcony doors were always open. Music drifted in but also the closing time clatter. Our room had an additional sauna/shower that did not work. Look at the rate carefully. "Priced from" nonsense will yield surprises. Not a deal killer, but annoying. Bottom line: our stay was positive.
The booked "Executive Room" has been rather small. Moving arround in the room with lagguage was a bit difficult. Room had a very nice hydro shower, which gives you a nice massage. Plus points of the hotel: - location - portable PC in the room with FREE internet
Very central location, good standard, all recently renovated, nice and fresh breakfast at reasonable price.
A well equiped hotel in a great location. Nice rooms, and friendly service. I would recommend highly.
