"The room smelled of perspiration after the maids had cleaned.
The hotel is undergoing renovations. However, the price seemed to me to be excessive (and I paid half of what is normally charged in Summer). I was in an unrenovated room. Well decorated but the bathroom really needs a total upgrade which they may be doing.

"This hotel can be classified as 'unassuming' luxury as everything is very discreet. For older guests more interested in strolling round the town and dining out the location is excellent. Take time to spend a few hours in the gardens that are unusually located and laid out.

"I really enjoyed my stay at the Phoenicia Hotel Valetta. The piano bar was a delight. The only thing ... I ordered a lasagne for dinner (room service) and was very disappointed with it. Hardly any meat and a very sweet taste to the sauce. The rest was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The internet service should be free though.
