Getting there:The Hotel Plantage is located opposite of the Amsterdam City Zoo called ARTIS. BY AIR: Train takes you from Schiphol Airport to Central Station Amsterdam. FROM CENTRAL STATION: tramline no 9: stop for the Zoo (=ARTIS): "Plantage Kerklaan" (7th stop, incl. Central Station; tramtickets are sold on the tram) BY CAR: on the eastern section of the ringroad Amsterdam (A10) the ZOO Artis, is indicated with an sign with a little black elephant. Take exit S114 and follow the signs (little black elephants) of our neighbour the Zoo. CITY CENTRE: follow the green signs ARTIS for walking tours in the centre.

very central and quite,comfortable bed but would have prefered double bed. Nice friendly staff will recommend it to anyone with low budget

Good location within walking distance of central Amsterdam. Bars and restaurants within 100m. Car parking very difficult. Small rooms were clean but with outdated facilities and decor that dates from 1960's.
Pillows were lumpy and hard. No Shower curtain around shower. No clean towels or beds made daily. Kettle provided very slow but no coffee, tea provided.. Also road noise in room very bad from trams out front. Good points were TV, Fridge, safe in room & internet access was free. Location was very central, walking distance to city. This is definately a budget hotel but served our purpose well.
The hotel provided good, clean, basic accommodation. Its proximity to a tram service was very useful. The owner was very helpful and always assisted us with our queries.
The Hotel is ideally located four stops away from Amsterdam Centraal by tram. It is 5 minutes walk from the City Centre and therefore very conveniently located. Plantage is a small, old Hotel that is relatively clean but the internal staircase is narrow and steep and posed problems in getting luggage to the room. The pricing was excellent.
A very friendly hotel perfectly located in a good neighbourhood, serviceminded personal who you could ask everything you wanted to know, the rooms were very generous.

Hotel is very central. The place is excellent for this fairly priced hotel, owner is excellently friendly, staffs are helpful. We have no complaints at all for the two nights stay there. We will go back when we next go to Amsterdam.
Great place for the price. Location was very close to transport, so 5-10 minutes by tram to most places in Central Amsterdam. The 5 person room was great for us Aussie packpackers, and the staff were very helpful.
