The hotel is a bit far from the centre, but is close to a tram. It has a nice, modern design, and we were offered very good service
modern and fresh decoration, large and simple room, comfortable large bed and trendy bathroom, 10 min walking distance from the lake. for business or leisure an excellent location. I will go back....
All Design rooms feature Italian furniture designed for the Designhotel Plattenhof and create, along with oak-wooden floors, an atmosphere of comfort and cosiness in a contemporary way. The Artemide-light system sets the right colour to your mood while you are listening to your favourite music. Bath rooms are equipped with shower stall and black tiles. All Design rooms feature a flatscreen televison with Xbox (videogames, DVD and CD-player) as well as MP3-socket, telephone and internet access.
Very clean, pleasant - bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was no airconditioning and it was over 30C in Zurich when I stayed - it was difficult to sleep in the heat. Restaurant is excellent and better value than down town. Staff very friendly and helpful - but no airconditioning!

What I most impressed was quick hot water of the shower room. Breakfast was very nice. But I thought suttle buses to the airport were little expensive(25F). It was unclear that you needed tips for room cleaning. You didn't take my tips sometimes. Even though there was snow outside, my room was very warm. Staffs were very nice and good at English. Danke!

Great to have a very modern and comfortable bar that is also open to the public . I thought the buffet breakfast excellent . The old hotel has been cleverly disguised with a make over! I shared the room which made the price at 165 CHF very reasonable.
Good friendly helpful staff. A nice modern hotel, which is on the hill on the old town side, yet is easy walking distance and also has a tram very close by that takes you into the town. Reasonably priced and has all you need for a weekend stay.
We had checked this hotel on [other website] and it had socred very highly in their ratings so our expectations were high. However we realised when we got to the hotel that the comments were for a designer room not a standard room! The standard rooms were very average with old wooden furnishings that needed replacing. The main light in our bathroom wasn't working. We reported it but it never got fixed, probably because it was a weekend. The hotels website promised a X box in every room and we had brought a new DVD in anticipation of using it but we were told that they were not available in standard rooms. To compensate for the disappointment in room facilities we did find the staff very helpful- they even managed to borrow an X box for us to use so we did get to see the DVD. The breakfast provided a good selection for a continental breakfast.The hotel was in a good central location 10 mins walk to the centre or a couple of minutes to the tram stop.

Wonderful hotel, really great location, fantastic breakfast, but the best thing was the really warm welcome and the great coffee on arrival.

Location not very central but served by direct frequent tram connection from the center. Very close to university builduings. Modern furniture in rooms. Friedly reception staff. Cold buffet breakfast.
