The food was very good, room was clean but it wasn't the best location especially for JR Pass Holders. And the rooms only had LAN internet connection--not good for netbooks.
A comfortable hotel. Easy to get from Umeda, Osaka. Food outlets nearby and easily accessible. Best direction to Hotel if arriving by Shinkansen, gets off at Shin Osaka take the local train to Umeda(osaka Station) change to Hankyu Line for Juso-West Exit. Is about 15 minutes walk to Hotel. Internet service available at ground floor level ask reception for Lan Cable
for those who are use to big aussie bedroom, let me tell you than this hotel contain what Japan considere be big ... the room is not small in comparison of what you can find in Japan but it's a lot smaller than what we use to in Australia. enjoy your stay
Small but clean. 10-minute walk to Juso train station from which you can conveniently ride to Umeda (3 minutes), Itami airport (30 minutes), and Kyoto (35 minutes on express). Plenty of shops and restaurants around. Would not accommodate request for non-smoking room at check-in. Have to request one at booking.
Lobby area was pleasant, staff spoke limited English but did there best to be helpful. Rooms needed a lick of paint and smelt of stale smoke, but were clean and had small neat bathrooms.
The hotel caters mostly to tour groups. I have seen groups from China, Taiwan and Singapore during my two days' stay in the hotel. For those that have concerns about staying within adult entertainment district, you may have to look eslewhere for your accommodation. It is not exactly convenient to go into Osaka City center. You have to take the train (or bus) to go across to the Osaka city center, similar to Kowloon and Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong.
Great stay at this budget, yet very very clean hotel in Osaka. Highly recommended for business travelers and anyone looking to have a clean room to stay in for the night. The facilities were average, but if you don't plan to be spending your day in your room, this is for you. Be warned though, the hotel is in the middle of the local 'love hotel' area. However in saying that, I had no concerns about my safety whats so ever, just some people might find it off putting, or people with kids. The location was super convenient, 1 min walk to 7/11 and 5 min walk to Ju So Station ( 2 stops from central Osaka stations and Umeda), with plenty of cheap restaurants within walking distance. The staffs english was OK, and there was free internet access in the lobby. One complaint was I could hear kids jumping around on the floor above.
Nice and clean hotel with reasonably large rooms (for Japanese standards). Bit old fashioned building and furniture. Rooms are well equipped and serviced daily. Staff is very friendly and mostly could use some English. Free internet connection available in entry lobby. We did not use restaurants because we were out for most of the day, but they seem to be reasonably priced (buffet breakfast $10). Location is convenient - 5min walk to railway (not JR though) and safe although there are quite few (decent) love-hotels in the area as well as pubs/bars. Guests were mostly locals - families as well as couples and business people and groups. We (me and wife and two teenagers) enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would recommend it to others.
Hotel is close to the station and am greatful that they have its business card at the Juso station - very convenient. It's OK if you walk the 'main' way as indicated on the back of the business card, but if you walk the short way - it's a bit seedy. Be careful if you're travelling by yourself.
Nice clean hotel. Staff were friendly. Situated on the Northern side of the river oposite side to Osaka Central Station. The hotel was a little difficult to find as it located down a side street off the main road. We enjoyed our stay.
Plaza Hotel is close to a station- but it is not JR-It has good facilities and we found it to be a good price on special ( about 8800 yen for a twin)
Great hotel with excellent English speaking staff. Breakfast included and a short train ride from Osaka. Would stay again, only negative was in room internet not available.
Stay here if you want a truly authentic japanese experience where you will be immersed in the culture. No other westerners in sight which was ok for us. Train and city further away than we would have liked as hotel is on north side of city and one train stop from Umeda (Osaka Station). Very polite staff, just remember "sorry yes" means "no".
staff dont speak english,no concierge services,no views, less than luxurious views, inconvenient location. excellent restaurant
The plaza hotel is located half way between Shin-Osaka and Osaka Station. Both are about a 30 min walk so a taxi (about 1000 yen)from Shin-Osaka would be a good idea if you have heavy luggage. Juso station is about 5 mins away for a quick train trip to Umeda(Osaka) station. Hotel room was clean with 90s style laminate furniture, room was quite spacious, bed very comfortable and big by Japanese standards. Area surrounding hotel was a little seedy (not meaning unsafe, meaning quite a few love hotels and like establishments are located nearby). Covered malls are located nearby and hotel had power transformers for charging my mobile.
Nice hotel - but its in the middle of Osaka's uptown "Love Hotel" area - kind of seedy. Would not recommend you stay there if you have children. Otherwise, Its a nice clean hotel. Also - there are no "no-smoking" rooms - so if you don't mind the smell of tobacco, its a decent place.
Very handy to downtown and shopping not foreign tourist hotel and good for meeting the locals
It's a bit hard to find the hotel as it does not seam to appear in most of the tourist map. You also need to catch the Hankyusubway to Juso to locate it. However, once you settled in and explored the nearby area around the Juso station, you'll find this a very convenient and value for money hotel.
Even though the Hotel was a little farther out than i thought,on the other side of the river it was only 5min walk to the local train station. It was only 1stop from the central Osaka. The taxi fare was not very expensive to go from Osaka Station and only took 10-15 min.I would not have any problem staying the again. The Black taxi's seem to know where to go the best when you come out of the station.
The staff are very helpful, courteous and kind enough to speak in the limited (but adequate) English they have. Like all 3* hotels in Japan, the rooms are not generous but all the facilities are there. Breakfast was included in the price and there was a fabulous selection, both Japanese and Western food. About a 1220-1500 yen taxi ride from Shin-Osaka train station. Would stay here again.
