"Pohutu lodge was great value for money. It's not the flashest place on earth, but rooms were clean and simple. Location wise it's ok, town would be a bit of a walk, but there is a BP just round the corner which is handy for essentials.
Richard, was a great host and made us feel welcome.
Only item I missed was there was no iron/ironing board in the room.

Spa bath in all units, quiet, 400 metres to Te Puia thermal area, 1km to Redwood forest, 5 minutes by car to CBD/shops/restaurants, 2 minutes by car to the racecourse. A game of golf? We are 200 metres from Arikipakapa golf course. |

To find us, just drive south from the CBD via Fenton Street until you pass the BP connect petrol station. Meade Street is the first street on the left. Head for the plume of geothermal steam. We are at the exciting end of Fenton street.
If you are travelling from Taupo we are on the first street on the right past the "Te Puia" sign
