For the price I paid I was very impressed.
Very recommended. Strategically located near bus station and subway. Only 5 minutes from Roma Termini
The service varied. Some of the personnel were very helpful whereas some others were not so helpful or polite.
The hotel is outside of the city centre but only 200m from the train station. A regular service takes you '1-STOP only' to FLAMINIO which is on the main metro line. At 4 euros for an all day pass, this is the ideal way to travl around and see the city.
We found the accomodations to be very nice. The shower, however, was very small by US standards. Staff was friendly, free internet service was a plus. Breakfast plentiful. Very safe area of the city, close to the train, neighborhood grocery store and several nice restaurants in the Euclide neighborhood. They have a private car service to transport guests to the airport at a fixed price - 55 Euros - which was very convenient and reasonable.
Polo is a very clean and friendly hotel with helpful staff. The lighting in room whilst extensive was dull. The shower however was fantastico which may seem trivial but after a long day walking around provided welcome relief. Ate out of an evening so cannot comment on evening meal but breakfast was more than satisfactory. Would I stay there again? Yes as far as staying in hotels goes definitely. But I would probably try for a hotel a little closer to the action next time.
Very nice hotel and service
The biggest disadvantage of all is that the rooms were quite small & the train subway was passing under the hotel (every time was like a small earthquake!). Thought it was very clean & all the staff was very polite & happy to help you.
very well located, clean and good breakfast
Stayed in July 2006. Location is great for several reasons. One, the subway(metro) station is three blocks away. Two, a supermarket is located one block away, from which we bought water and drinks instead of paying high tourist prices for bottled water and soft drinks. Three, a Hertz office is two blocks away. Fourth, a free internet pc is available for hotel guests.
Hotel is in a fine neighborhood, though not near public transportation. Lots of restaurants nearby for lunch/dinner if hotel menu does not appeal. Breakfast included in price was good by Italian standards, with more variety than oftern found. Good value for money.
The front desk staff were very helpful and always had the answers to any of our questions. They arranged an excellent car service for us for our trip to the airport on our day of departure. The room was a little small, as were the showers, but each room has a balcony, which opens the room up nicely. Once we learned the subway system in Rome, this hotel was no more than 15 minutes from anywhere and the neighborhood was quiet.
Good and clean hotel. Gives you a good compensation for your money.
Nice "modern" hotel in residential area in posh, leafy part of Rome, close to Villa Borghese. Area nice for walks, cinema around the corner, close to "Thorvaldsen" area in Villa Borghese, museum of Modern Art. Breakfast quite good, service friendly and helpful, reception speak English.
Pleasant stay, very comfortable and clean, very nice area, beautiful and calm, easy transport during the day, you can reach every place within half or one hour.
