Getting there:Directions to the hotel from J24 of M25: Exit M25 onto A111. Move to right hand lane main traffic lights turn right. Continue till road turns into a V, follow the right hand lane and signposted B156 Cuffley. Continue B156 for, turn left to Vineyards Road. Go straight to Carbone Hill, Cuffley Camp on left and arrive to Newgate Street, a mini-roundabout in front; turn right at roundabout past Coach & Horses Pub take first immediate left, continue half mile; the hotel on the left.. Directions to the hotel from J25 of the M25: Leave M25 at J25 onto A10 towards Hertford. Take first left at next roundabout onto B198 towards Goffs Oak. Follow dual carriageway to next roundabout, take the first exit to B156. Turn right at next roundabout, onto Newgatestreet Road. Continue till reaching T junction, turn left to Darnicle Hill, down the hill,under the railway bridge. At top of hill take second right; large brown signpost. Continue turn right to hotel

We have previously stayed at this hotel for a wedding and found it to be a pleasant experience. So, when we had need to stay in the area again we were happy to book a return visit. The hotel is in pleasant grounds, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. My only criticism; this time we were allocated a bedroom on the ground floor of the extension block and the double bed was, for some reason, a fold-away bed that dropped down from a furniture unit on the wall. The bed was not at all comfortable. I’m sure we did not have a fold-away bed on our last visit and it seems strange to me that these are required.
cleanliness- lots of flys in the room service- made a complaint about leaking air con,took along time to sort the problem, didnt come back when they said they would
Very nice rural setting. Sympathetically remodelled old building in a tasteful modern style. Very helpful and friendly staff throughout. Excellent restaurant, no really, an EXCELLENT restaurant. Only drawback, no lifts, if you are on the upper floors and have heavy bags!
