It was a great hotel. The staff were very helpful, the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good.
Slightly out of town, about 20 mins walk. Wi-Fi available but expensive at 2.50 euros for half an hour.
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable for the two of us. It was located in the front, in an upper floor and had a panoramic view. A main road was in front but the double glazing stopped the noise. Breakfast was one of the better ones in our Italy tour. The taxi fare from the train station to the Hotel was about 7 euros. Manuela in reception was helpful. The hotel itself is clean and is within walking distance to the main sites in Verona. We enjoyed our stay here.
20 minutes to the train station by walking and also 20 minutes to the centre. From the station, 4 or 5 stops by bus if you do not want to walk and easy to find the bus. We stayed in a large and clean double room facing the canal passing behind the hotel. Very good choice for short stays.
Best low value hotel we have stayed in - brilliant!!
Nice hotel just outside of the city center, about 15 - 20 minutes from the train station (with luggage). Best breakfast we had on our trip. We ate at the attached restaurant in the evening and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Would definitely stay there again.
Very nice hotel restaurant, which was useful because it rained every day, and the walk into the city was about 15 minutes.
Small, but very clean hotel. Friendly staff, close to the train station and the historic sites. Good price as well. Would definitely go there again.
Good location in Verona. Friendly staff. I've got large room w/large bathroom for reasonable price. Standard breakfast. AOK 3 star hotel.
A nice hotel, about 10 min walking distance from the train station and 15 min from the town center. Faces a busy street, but windows soundproofing is excellent (inter-room soundproofing not so good unfortunately). However we wanted to be able to open a window and so asked to change to a room facing the canal on the other side of the hotel. The change was provided no questions asked, thumbs up! The hotel also has a nice reasonably priced restaurant with traditional Italian food. Good value for money all in all.
Nice, clean hotel, not far from historical centre, nice clean rooms, nice staff.
The in-house restaurant is superb, the staff are very accomodating and fluent in English, everything is spotless, and the design throughout is of the highest North Italian style.
This is a clean and comfortable hotel. The staff were helpful, the breakfast was good and the rooms were air conditioned. The hotel is around 20 minutes' walk both from the train/bus station and from the city centre. For those attending during the opera season there is a a free coach service to and from the city centre. In terms of its immediate surroundings, the hotel is not ideal: there are no restaurants nearby (although there is one in the hotel itself) but there is a bar just a short way up the road. I could not find any shops in the locality either. Apart from its slightly bleak (but not threatening or dangerous) location, the main problem with this hotel is the poor soundproofing in the walls between the bedrooms. All in all though, I enjoyed my time at the Porta Palio and considered it reasonable value for money.
Generally good except for location; it is a little bit far from the city centre.
