Choosing Porto Salvo means staying in an authentic monastery on the Sorrentine coastline, where you can admire the splendid views over the gulf of Naples. Porto Salvo is positioned centrally (you can reach the centre of sorrento in only 5 minutes) although, it is also in a very paceful area, the hotel is surrounded by nature. Infact its garden with lemon, orange and olive groves and splendid views of the sea are only some of the beautiful features Porto Salvo and its surrounding towns have to offer. The structure is located near a beach, only 20 metres away, you can reach the beach by foot. To get to the beach you only need to turn left, ahead of you, you will find a small slope leading to the beaches private lift. There is a bus stop right outside of the structure. Only 300 metres from the hotel there is the local train station where visitors can take the Circumvesuviana to the famous archaeological cities of Pompei, Herculaneum and the city of Naples. The monastery has a large dining room, a comfortable sitting room with a television and bar, there is also a large garden and free car park. At Porto salvo you will find a pleasent and welcoming atmosphere. We are open all year , But most importantly by choosing Porto Salvo you will have the chance to discover the wonderful sorrentine world.

Very lovely little hotel just outside of Sorrento, but in walking distance. Pleasant, competent staff and extremely generous buffet breakfast. Would stay there again.
I booked a room at Porto Salvo Hotel through Rates to Go and within half an hour had a call directly from the Hotel to confirm the booking, but explain that the hotel was full and they could offer us accomodation in a nearby B&B. Villa Chiara. The Villa is featured on the Hotel web site and is a beautiful, quiet, 17th Century villa situated in Piano de Sorrento. It was bliss!
Comfortable room for a pleasant and relaxing stay.
We stayed at Porto Salvo for one week and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great location, great price, good breakfast, helpful staff and very clean, basic accommodations. Free wireless internet from the lobby and sitting room, wonderful courtyard with lounges and tables. Still has the atmosphere of the old abbey that it was, and less than a block from the ocean.
This hotel is VERY basic----it's clean, inexpensive compared to most others in the area, but it's NOTHING extra. Very spartan rooms, no atmosphere in the room or public areas, but the staff is very nice and it's within walking distance of Sant' Agnello and Sorrento. I would plaln on spending more money next time and getting a more vacation-like hotel.
Cute old monastery. A pity nothing much was open in Sorrento in winter but nice place anyway.
A lovely quaint monastery. Very basic facilities but for the money you can't complain. The people are very friendly and helpful but meal times etc can be restrictive. Location is lovely and quiet which for me was a bonus but it is far from the hub of Sorrento so it depends on what you want.
This hotel use to be a Convent and is located not far from Sorrento about 3 klm with views of the ocean.
Very comfortable with lots of character being a converted monastery. Particularly interesting to see the monks working in the garden. Good views over The Bay of Naples. Service was very good and the staff couldn't have been more obliging. Very convenient for visits to Sorrento, Pompei, Herculaneum and Vesuvius using the Circumvesuviana Railway. Curreri bus will get you from airport to hotel in little over an hour-cost 7 Euros, but hotel is up to 15min walk from centre of Sant Agnello where the bus drops you.
The best value you will find in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, and extra-special given the worthy and genuine social intentions of the people who run it, the history of the place, the friendly and warm service, and lovely hilltop location. Furnishings are simple but thoughtful, location is good - beach is nearby, public buses take you to central Sorrento which is a pleasant 30 min coastline stroll away. Ask the friendly proprietor for restaurant recommendations etc., they will also provide plenty of information on transport to Capri and the Amalfi Coast and other useful bits. Highly recommended and a thoroughly pleasant stay.
No complaints at all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Clean, quiet, spacious and well-equipped rooms, nice breakfast, half a block from the bay and good restaurants within walking distance. Note, no elevator.
A wonderful place, very calming, partly due to the simple decor. Very helpful staff. Lovely location within very close range of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was simple, but good. Bar and snack service was provided. Highly recommended, we would book here again.
An excellent base for the Sorrento area. Reception gave us good local advice.
A clean hotel with nice staff.
Lovely place and fantastic value for money. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The building and location has a lot of charm and beauty and there are lemon and orange groves in the surrounding area. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the beach. The views are stunning too. Only slight downpoint is that it's a good 25 min walk to Sorrento along a busy road. However the location of the hotel is lovely and quiet, with some decent places to go out and eat nearby. Exceeded our expectations. Thanks to the staff for a lovely time!
We really enjoyed our stay at Porto Salvo. The staff are lovely people. We had a sea view and tranquility. The room was simple and quite spacious, with all the basic facilities we needed. Breakfast and coffee were good. And there was somewhere safe to park the car immediately outside. There are a couple of restaurants within a very short walk, one with magnificent sea views. It is quite a long walk to anywhere else, so we used the car and braved the chaotic local traffic. Highly recommended to anyone who doesn't want glitzy trimmings, just a very pleasant and peaceful stay.
Great location. Staff very helpful and friendly
We were made to feel welcome. The hotel is a value for money, friendly, safe and clean home away from home. The staff were also very willing to assist us.
Staff were friendly. We had a great seaview. Breakfast was simple but adequate.
Very friendly, helpful staff. A nice location, but can be hard to find - ask for directions if walking and not in possession of an accurate map. Only slight downside was that there were no ensuite twins - only doubles. But the staff were happy to move an extra bed into the room, so all was well. General atmosphere was one of a relaxed, 'happy' hotel. Certainly would consider using it again if I ever return to the area.
