Potters Hotel & Brewery Hunter Valley Guest Reviews

4.2 out of 5

Very central and lots to do.

4.2 out of 5

A boutique hotel located at the start of the Hunter Valley Wine Trail. This is a very historical property, which used to produce bricks for housing in the 19th Century, that has been revamped and accommodation facilities added. The accommodation is at the rear of the property and therefore quiet and the hotel has a popular restaurant with signature dishes.

Potters Brewery was a great location, great service, great price, clean linen. Our only negative comment was the spiders in our room. There were around 50 spiders around the ceilings in our room, including a red back spider. We would recommend and return to this hotel if we knew that the spider problem no longer existed.

Great place for a few days away, clean, friendly staff, value for money. One let down - the restaurent. Over priced, poorly cooked, their mushy pea pot pie, I have tasted better beef stew from a plain brand canned tin at Woolworths,do not ask about the pastry! Fish over cooked and tastless. Apart from the food I would go back again

For the price per night, would have expected something a little more modern. Was clean and comfortable though and the staff were lovely.

Have stayed here three or four times now. The location is well away from the vineyard areas along the main road from Cessnock. There is a pub on the site and a small beer production facility. The rooms are big and qite pleasant. Decor is rather basic but adequate. If you stay there on a weekend, try and get a room away from the pub as it gets a bit noisy.

one thing - we asked for a dvd player at reception (the room had said it came with one) only to be told they had run out but would see if they had one somewhere else. We didn't here from them again. Our other problems were with the pub - not a place I would go to again but otherwise the accommodation was adequate.

Budget hotel but adequate for our overnight. Unfortunately our room was facing the main road, and was noisy throughout the night and early morning. Breakfast was good. Service was friendly.

Potters Brewery was a great place to stay. The room was a good size and was fitted out with everything you need on your holiday.the staff and locals were friendly and the location was good.It was only a 10 min drive to the wineries. The tour of Potters Brewery was very informative and i would suggest to anyone who is staying there to take the tour.

The staff were very friendly, specially the housekeeping staff and maintenance man. The food was excellent and plentiful. The room was cosy and it was great to sit outside the room on the patio.

good location for anyone wanting to visit the Hunter Valley region. Swimming pools, spa and tennis court are a good attraction for families. Rooms quite spacious and well furnished. Hotel food is OK and pricing on food and drinks good. American breakfasts have a great variety of foods. Children well catered for as well. Staff are most friendly.

We chose this hotel after checking previous reviews on the web and we were not disappointed. Had 2 adjoining double rooms which were well presented, clean and very comfortable. Staff and service excellent. Hotel is very well located to tour Hunter Valley.

This hotel was in good location. It was clean ,comfortable and quiet and we have stayed a few times but there is no room service for breakfast which was dissappointing and the buffet breakfast wasn't great. The dinner we had was very average and our mains came out when we had just started our bread and entree. They didn't seem to care at all about this.We complained but never received an apology or feedback from staff. We didn't eat there again as we saw it happening with the table next to us as well and assumed they liked to rush you out the door by bringing all courses out on top of each other.

Fills the gap in the Hunter between pub accomodation and 5 star luxury. They are very centrally located and very well priced for anyone staying in the area longer than a couple of days.
