"What a little jewell ! Large and very comfortable room, quiet location and in Macau, that is rare, and staffed by trainee managers and waiting staff who have a good sense of humour and who are very eager to please. The restaurant just a short walk up the road is absolutely tremendous.
Value for money ? Absolutely. Probably the best value that I have experienced in 35 years of travelling. This hotel is outstanding.

| Hotel description: |
|
With the enchantment of an ancient, bygone world, the cannons and embattlements of the eminent XIX Century Fortress here on Mong-Há’s hilltop, never did to get to serve their purpose and were later to be abandoned, to be hidden by an assault of looming trees and heavy shrubbery. It was to be so until in the 1970’s a young Portuguese Officer proposed to build a new military barracks amongst this patchwork of early Buddhist temples, secluded and shielded in the grounds and gardens This was short lived as the military returned to Portugal in 1974 due to the ‘Red Carnation Revolution’. After being taken over by the local tourism office in 1979, the training unit Pousada de Mong-Há run entirely by students, was to open its doors to the public in 1995 after the formation of the Institute For Tourism Studies (IFT).
Guests now enjoy the gracefully meandering pathways through lush gardens and colourful foliage, or spending afternoons not as Mong-Há was originally quite intended, but working and lounging in serene rooms, shaded patios and balconies, occasionally noticing a lone rustic cannon peering through waving branches.
Indulge yourself in excess…. where history itself has created an atmosphere of romance and tranquility, with a genuine human warmth from our students.
