Hotel is located close to Grand Palace and #1 Madrid Tour Bus stop (which is very important as it's hard to get a space on upper deck if you try to board in the middle of the route). We walked everywhere including Prado which is on opposite side of City's central part. Famous Sol is just 15 min walking. But Hotel really needs renovation, especially carpets, though room was very nice and spacious and fully marble bath with bidet just outright great! What I disliked the most is only one English Channel (CNN) on tiny (maybe 5")TV - my monitor is much bigger. But given the price on our days of very cheap dollar it was fine overall.
Five minute walk from the Royal Palace. Everything is okay, but nothing special for the price paid.
when first arrived at hotel was a bit dubious ,but once inside it was fine, room was clean and maid was in every day, reception was helpful in letting us know where to go and location was five mins from palace which is a beautiful place to start of your sightseeing from it was good value for money as was happy with the location as most everything could be walked to ,would use this hotel again not for beautiful decor but closeness to palace was perfect !!
Friendly stuff. Very good location.
We were pleasantly surprised with our room and the staff at Principe Pio Hotel... As with most hotels in europe, elevators aren't the largest but thats not a big deal. The room and bathroom was clean. The beds were okay. We're a couple in our late twenties and this hotel fit our budget. The location was in the middle of two major metro stations, so getting to it from the airport was super simple, just a little walk from the metro station and you're there. The main tour bus lines and areas of interest were just a short walk by as well. The only complaint is the walls were very thin as I could hear our neighbors conversation nightly. Some guest like to slam their doors, so that was easily heard as well. We didn't let this ruin our trip, since the fact that we're on vacation is already quite nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very central location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our stay.
We were very positively surprised about the room and bathroom - both were very nice and clean. We expected less from looking at the homepage. We placed pricing in "good" instead of "average" as we got a very good price by booking through Hotel Club. Our stay would have been considerably more expensive if we had booked directly at the hotel.
Great hotel, great location. I would stay there again.
We had a great view of the Palacio Real from our room. There was a little confusion over our smoking preferance... they had us in a smoking room with two twin beds on our honeymoon... but they quickly moved us to a non-smoking queen room. The staff is very friendly and helpful when asking for travel advice. We were just a few moments (walking distance) away from the Plaza de Espana and metro. Great location!
Bedrooms-- carpet stained and walls needed painting. on the positive side, the check staff were friendly , efficent and helpful.
Small room but quite clean. Walking distance to many main sights of Madrid. Small elevators, gets too busy when many guests arrive - was quicker to walk up 7 levels!
Spacious triple room. Good location close to shopping, restaurants, parks and a short walk to the metro Plaza de Espana. Quiet in spite of busy street. Beds are hard. Good bathroom with thick towels. Friendly staff. Good cold breakfast with delicious coffee. It was a very pleasant stay.
Friendly, helpful staff. Ask for a room at the front of the hotel to get a wonderful view of the Palais Real over the Jardins Sabatini.
Good price, good location (near Plaza de España and Royal Palace), good price, etc.
Standard 3-star hotel, spanish breakfast. Check that the safe in your room works and ask for it to be repaired if it doesn't.
