Getting there:The hotel is located 2 blocks North of Melbourne's CBD in the suburb Carlton on the corner of Lygon & Queensberry Streets. The closest train station is Melbourne Central on the City Loop. From there it is only a 7 minute walk North-East, up Swanston St then right into Queensberry. From the City, any tram heading north up Swanston St will cross Queensberry St. Get off at Queensberry and walk 2 blocks East to the corner of Lygon. Taxi from the airport will cost around $35 alteratively the skybus will take you to the city for $13 per person each way, the hotel is then only a $5 taxi ride. Driving from the airport to the hotel or from anywhere North of Melbourne you need to take Flemington Rd, the freeway from the airport joins up with this. After you pass a major roundabout the road will become Elizabeth St. From here you turn left into Queensberry and follow this until you reach the corner of Lygon St which is where the hotel is located. You will see us on the far right corner!

Car parking:Onsite parking available at the price of $20.00 per night. Guest's may be required to leave car keys with reception. If the guest does not want to leave car keys, car parking is the responsibility of the individual guest.

First class hotel with comfortable king sized bed, clean room and excellent staff. Well located in Lygon street, close to all the north Melbourne CBD attractions. Rooms were comfortable with air conditioning which worked well, unusual in renovated, older hotels. Well equiped room with flat screen TV, which could be moved to all angles of viewing. Bathroom was good with high pressure hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast had good variety and was served hot. In short one of the best hotels in Melbourne.
A very nice room, however overpriced for what it is. We got an apartment in the cbd for less than what we paid.

Very clean and comfortable place to stay. We were made to feel welcome. The staff were well informed and courteous, nothing was to much. Great central location to lots around Central Melb during the day and loved the Italian Restaurants in Lygon Street just 2 minutes walk. Great experience. Will definitely go back there next stay. We really enjoyed our stay! The location was quite good for Lygon street cafes/resturaunts etc. plus, pretty close to the cbd although we were happy wandering around Carlton! Free parking was a bonus as well. We were traveling with our 7 month old and there was plenty of space for a port a cot/travel bed (they provided the port a cot and linen with no charge) Great customer service and lots of staff on hand to help anyone whoo needed it. the only down side was that you could hear the traffic/noise on Lygon street but it didn't really keep us up.
This hotel is in a great location in a quiet spot on Lygon St yet close enough to stroll outside to the restaurant strip, (though their own restaurant is well worth trying too). The cocktail bar was also nice with complementary hot nibblies. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and glad to help.Parking was easy and only cost $10 extra. The only improvements we could suggest would be to have a proper coffee available with the buffet breakfast instead of the jug of stewing filter coffee - C'mon, guys, this is Lygon St!We'd still definitely come back again though.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at in Melbourne. Clean and tidy. Quiet. Comfortable bed i.e. not too hard. Best of all windows with view... even in the bathroom.

An extremely convenient location. Positioned on Lygon St and only a 5 - 10 minute walk into the city centre and 5 mins to the Victoria markets. Room was clean and fresh with all you need - large sized, attractive bathroom. Staff were helpful and obliging with all questions and requests.
Clean, neat and modern rooms with surprisingly little street noise, given its location on Lygon Street. Great location near to city and the noisy, smokey, black-clad youth of Lygon night life. Did not experience the service, apart from reception which was acceptably efficient.

We have stayed here on a couple of accasions now amd find it great value, terrific location and extremely confortable.
no power on right side of room so therefore no tv no fridge and no hair dryer worst of all no compensation! not the best stay in melbourne we have ever had.

No frills accommodation, but very clean, simple rooms that have recently been upgraded in a stylish way. Excellent location with great access to shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to CBD. Parking can be problematic, especially on weekends.
