Quality Hotel Emerald Gisborne Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

clean, comfortable room ~ Fantastic services, nice place to stay!

3.2 out of 5

The bedroom was lovely & clean but very stuffy. The air pump was continuously not working & because there was no balcony the room got very hot at night. Value for money was inadequate, for $160 "marketed as a special rate" we expected at least a balcony...I wonder what that room would have cost without the "special?" The pool was lovely & cool. The hotel staff - some were friendly. The hotel entrance is extremely uninviting - not like the other hotels in Gisbourne. The entrance is unmarked & the inside is a maze to try & find your room. Which I wouldnt have done if not for a lovely young girl who helped me.

FANTASTIC!!! Exceeded expectations in every way. Room was incredibly clean and comfortable and staff was wonderful. The price was a bargain. Wish we could have stayed longer just because we liked the hotel so much.

Excellant hotel all round. Lovely spacious one bedroomed accommodation. 2 King beds - very comfortable and firm. Only complaint- noisy bathroom extractor fan running continually. Seemed unable to be switched off.

An excellent hotel with immaculate rooms and wonderful facilities. I'm only sorry that we only spent one night there. Have recommended it to friends already.

One of the best.Very pleasant and helpful front desk. Enjoyed the seafood buffet. Central to Gisbournes shops and ammenities. Good sized room with a large deck and view over the pool. Will be staying again.

This is a great hotel. We only stayed one night and will have to think of an excuse to go back! We especially liked the big covered private patio. The only minor niggle was that the TV in the living room was too small and too high on the wall.

Very excellent, clean, modern large room and facilities. Hard to find as no signage on street and had moved back from corner position. Seemed to be under staffed as when we tried to ring to locate no one would answer the phone.

Excellent 4+ star hotel. Gymnasium a little spartan. Staff very obliging. The only real gripe is in the restaurant. We are mid to late evening diners and found that some dishes were all but empty. Possible reason might have been the low number of patrons but for a 4+ star hotel one would expect a little more. Nevertheless we would recommend the hotel and stay there again, perhaps dining out though.

A fabulous hotel in central Gisborne close to everything. Extremely clean with very friendly service. We were hoping that there was a buffet dinner and well as a set menu, but this is only on Sundays. We will indeed be recommending to our friends and relatives as the ideal place to stay in Gisborne and will book again when next in Gisborne.

A suprising find for Gisborne we thought. Great rooms, good food. Nice friendly people. A little hard to find at night given they do not have a light on their sign. Got a terrific special room rate online too.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Emerald Hotel in Gisborne being only 2 days but came away feeling very relaxed. We were very impressed with the size and decor of our suite and have since recommended this hotel to some friends. We would definitely come back.
