Getting there:Located in Finlay Place, a laneway between two restaurants off Lygon Street, we are located inbetween Queensberry Street and Grattan Street. We are approximately 25 kilometres from the Melbourne Airport and you can either take the Skybus from the airport, or a taxi which will cost you between $45-50. Please note our reception hours.
Check-in Procedure:Reception Hours are 7.00am - 11.00pm daily - If arriving outside these hours you MUST contact us prior to arrival to arrange after hours access. Please note that a valid credit card is required to make a booking AND at check in. Quest Carlton is right in the heart of Lygon Street with its many restaurants. A short walk from The Melbourne Museum and round Melbourne courtesy bus which drops off at Victoria Markets, Southbank and other places of interest. The studio apartment had a well equipped kitchen, eating area and courtyard - everything one could need for a short or long stay.
Quite hard to find off Lygon Street. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Rooms were acceptably clean.

Very comfortable, clean and friendly. In a great spot close to everything. Have already started to plan another stay
The lane way to the hotel is very narrow and at times messy and smelly with rubish from restaurants. My appartment view was directly onto rubbish bins and back doors of restaurants.
The hotel is well located in the heart of Carlton's restaurant strip just off Lygon Street, so it is reasonably quiet. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Internet access was only by cable and was expensive.
If you are coming into Melbourne by car this hotel is not great - they only have 16 car parking spots and the nearest other parking location is the Exhibition Buildings (about a 10 minute walk away) which can cost up to $20 for one night - there is street parking but good luck with that one. The bed springs were completely gone so it made for a restless night. Well positioned for eating out and if you don't feel like eating out the kitchenette was well equiped except there was only a microwave oven for cooking. This is a hard hotel to find on budy Saturday night as it is down a very narrow alley and cars are parked along the alley and street signs are small and a lot of people everywhere that you have to dodge with the car.

Quest on Carlton is seconds aways from Lygon street and many amazing restaurants. We were very lucky. Not only that - we were seconds away for the CBD and a cab ride to Southbank precinct only cost about $10. We had a great night!! Highly recommend!!
