Ravensdene Lodge Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne Guest Reviews

4.2 out of 5

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Ravensdene Lodge Hotel, but I think it could do with a bit of a clean up in places and also I think they should put in a mirror as there is none when you want to dry your hair using the hairdrier, silly I know but there are a lot of women who will think the same.

3.6 out of 5

Bedroom was pretty tired looking, nevertheless a welcoming hotel, good breakfast in nice surroundings.

The staff on reception where extremely friendly which was great after a long drive. Unfortunately many areas of the hotel smelt of damp and the hotel was well in need of a dust. I ran my finger over the small table in myroom and it was black, obviously hadnt seen a clean in a long time. Was very disappointed as i paid £71.00 for this room, maybe would have been worth the money had it been clean and had a tv as most hotel rooms nowadays. Will not be staying there again and would not recommend them either.

This Hotel is in a good location if you are going to the Metro Radio arena in Newcastle. The bar is open 24 hours ( night porter after midnight). Wouldnt say it was a family hotel, but is ok for a guys night out in Newcastle.

Our room door had been kicked in prior to out stay and not repaired Very basic room, TV didn't work and there was no remote, the shower was feed straight of the bath taps with no or little temp control. Alreet for drunken night out in Newcastle but not for longer stays. Staff were very polite however.

If you have a car, this is the place to stay. Big, sunny rooms with two queen beds, bathtub in the bathroom, coffee-maker, hearty full English breakfast, bar and restaurant on premises, car parking. The only setback is it suburban location: 10-15 min. and 10 pounds to Newcastle center, or 10 min. and 6 pounds to nearest metro station (Gateshead).

the facilities were very basic, 1st room couldn't turn hot water tap off, reception was closed and had to hunt for someone to come and turn it off, we then had to use room across the corridor for showers, we were transferred to this room only to discover the TV had no plug. Advised by local taxi driver that hotel is mainly used for stag & hen weekends!!!!!!!!!!!

Extremely nice and clean hotel. Very helpful staff, who are willing to help you out with almost any query you have. Only downside was the smokey bar (but then again smoking inside is banned in Scotland), and that the chef had to go home on the Friday morning early before we got breakfast.

Recently stayed here on a hen party. The staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Rooms where clean and when we asked for more towels they brought us more than enough. They also helped provide us with our own 6-seater minibus/taxi for the weekend. Will definitely be staying here again in the future, as will all the other hens. (Plus 24hr bar which is good as everywhere seems to close in Newcastle by 3am)

The staff at this hotel are friendly and very helpful, but the standard of the hotel is really pretty poor. The location of the hotel excellent. The breakfast and the food are good, but they really need to get the standard of the rooms raised, eg: the beds need to be put in a museum.and hardly anything works in the room.
