Overall it was a great hotel. Safe and clean. Will go back there on my next trip.
You will get more than what you paid for. The Service, the apartment the location everthing is Excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. 2 minutes walk to Metro station that is just 5 minutes ride to People square(Shopping Malls).. Zhongshan Park (Shopping malls)... 10 minutes ride to Convention center for business persons.
Nice hotel for so cheap! Would definitely use it next time!
Despite the negative reviews we read prior to staying at Rayfont, we decided to risk three nights because of the super low price through HotelClub. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of our stay (slippers, bath robes and bottled water supplied). Although there was an initial room mix up (given a twin room when we had booked a double bed), the service desk were keen to help us rectify the situation. The Hotel was conveniently located opposite a late night supper restaurant and just a short walk from the nearest subway station. If it is a good price - go for it!
The room was quite small but ok for 2. Room was also equipped with a small washing machine and dryer unit which was a blessing. Location not so great but buses do run in front of the hotel but a long walk to the nearest metro station. Bed was hard, like elsewhere in China but comfortable. Ok room.
Not glamorous but it's cheap and with the price you pay you can't complain too much.
It's not splendour and check-in/out may take forwever but it's completely adequete for the price.
The plug of the bath tub broken, I could use shower only.
We arrived at this hotel late at night and it was no problem, the location is good, it's got nice surrounding but it is quite noisy from the street and the bathroom window seemed to be absolutely not resistant to the sounds from outside, I checked several times if it's closed for sure. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable, breakfast average (but Chinese will like it), the staff were helpful and friendly, no problem to communicate in English there. I recommend this hotel to those who seek good service and a low price.
I don't think I will ever stay here again. The location was okay, but there are hotels in the same area that might be a better experience to stay at, such as [other hotel names]. The price was ok about 400 rmb a night for a "king size only room". The staff was difficult to deal with and that made it a poor experience for us. Very little English and seemed frustrated with lao wai's (foreigners). We purchased the breakfast through ratestogo.com and they refused us many times. We finally had to have them retrieve the voucher and show them that we paid. The pre-paying for breakfast just seemed like something that has not happened before. The room amenities are adequate. Our room had a small water heater and you had to allow 30 min between showers for the next person. I would recommend a place closer to the airport. Some of them are cheaper and nicer. But take our word for it, you might have a better experience than we did.
For the price it was very nice. It was a little run down and the facilities it was supposed to have such as a bar, gym, sauna and spa where non existent. Although Shanghai is a very big city we found it quite a distance from the major tourist attractions such as the Bund and Peoples Square-both either a decent walk and then train trip away of a 22RMB taxi ride. But it was comfortable and we enjoyed our time there-extending our stay by an extra night.
The location and pricing were the standout features of this hotel, and then only good. Hotel is a 5 min walk from the substation.
The apartments themselves were very nice but the public areas were shabby. The location was a bit out of the way for tourists wanting access to the Bund or downtown area.
