With its unique waterfront location close to all major theme parks, Marina Mirage and Main Beach, the resort is just ten minutes from Sea World and 15 minutes from Surfers Paradise CBD. BreakFree Rays offers one bedroom fully self contained apartments with large balconies and fully-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. We also offer onsite facilities including a swimming pool, heated spa, gymnasium, BBQ area and tour desk. Magnificent beaches, shopping and restaurants are just a short stroll away. Overlooking South Stradbroke Island, Southport makes for an idyllic holiday spot as it is positioned at the outflow of the Nerang River on the western side of the famous Broadwater. Getting there:Please refer to Google maps or Whereis for directions. Brisbane Airport - 80km north Gold Coast Airport - 30km south From Brisbane Airport - follow Airport Drive and turn left onto the Gateway Motorway. Continue for approx. 25kms and the highway will become the Pacific Highway. Follow signs to the Gold Coast and take the Southport / Surfers Paradise exit. Follow signs to Southport taking Smith Street (which turns into North St) all the way to the end. Turn right at the traffic lights into Marine Parade and Rays Resort is on the right. From Coolangatta Airport - turn left onto the Gold Coast Highway and follow the signs to Southport. The Gold Coast Highway turns into Marine Parade. Continue along Marine Parade and Rays Resort is on the left, just beyond Nind Street.

Central to Australia fair & Southport shops, Broadwater, Surfers Paridise. Gold Coast Highway right in front of Resort, traffic noise can be a nuisance.
Good facilities and very close to centre of the gold coast. But rooms were average - eg, worn carpets and couches, old TV, we had to wash our own dishes and empty the rubbish ourselves but if you don't expect a lot, then it is a very satisfactory place. There is washing machine and kitchenette which is handy for more than a couple of nights.

Good clean hotel, nice pool, nice and close to Good Vibes which we wanted.
For the price we paid, i.e. $109 per night, this Resort was quite reasonable. The one bedroom apartment was quite well equipped, but fairly small and compact and we had to re-position the couch in order to watch the t.v. The separate bedroom was only divided by a shutter door, which necessitated being left open at all times as there was only one airconditioner in the lounge, which had to cater for the whole apartment. A ceiling fan would have been good in the bedroom, as it was very hot when we stayed there, i.e 35 degree days. As there were no chairs on the balcony, we had to utilise the kitchen chairs from inside. The lady on Reception was very nice, pleasant and helpful. All in all, for the price it was ok.
The customer service was great. The hotel is central to everything. Great weekend.
Swimming pool too cold in July.
A pretty nice place to stay, if a little dated. No cable TV channels or Internet Access in the rooms. Other facilities were really good, pool, spa & BBQ's.
A nice place for getaway. Room charges are very reasonable.
Handy to water through park opposite. Close to shops and main exit road to Brisbane. Third floor or above with best view. Good place to stay and real good value.
Staff were very prompt in providing a hair dryer when requested. Facilities were good and the security very adequate. My daughter and I felt safe, and really enjoyed the time there. We would stay there again.
