Redan Apartments Melbourne

This place is billed as a studio appartment...huh! More like a small cheap quality hotel room. There are far better places available for the price. Promised a Free continental breakfast, we found when we arrived that we could Purchase a breakfast basket. We were disappointed to say the least.

Reception and booking in was good. Room was tired-draws falling off and carpet marked, bedside tables and dining table chipped No room to open up the two folding chairs provided to use at the dining table. Bed soft and inclined to dip into the middle. Good location-just a nice walk to the tram stop, great under cover parking with generous sized spots for our 4WD. Price reflected the condition of the place, so I would stay here again.

Two outstanding features, price and location. The room was very basic. Not enough hangers in the wardrobe. There was no room service on the weekend so the bathroom was not cleaned and no clean towels provided. Renovations going on in next room with jack hammering, drilling so room was noisy.

We had difficulties with the key opening our door late at night this could be problematic. The bathroom had a huge layer of dust onthe area behind the loo. The bathroom had patched up repairs which were very shoddy. It was very hot and only a fan provided.

No longer has secure parking as Code is written on wall by owners to help people remember!! All doors left open, anyone can walk in or out during day or night. Grout around tiles in showers (last 2 visits) black/mouldy. Bed spread had large cigarette burns near top Would not use these facilities again.

Very run down and basic, mould in the bathroom,noisy fan,peeling paint, no insect screens, no iron available,. Poor standard for a quest property.

Facilities where in need of update - even a coat of paint in the shower & toilet area would make a big difference. Air conditioning would be a benefit in the hot weather. We found it handy to the trains into Melbourne.

broken stove, had to ask for more soap etc frequently, shower needed to be fixed, staff friendly.

Washing machines are very loud and are on until late evening (commercial?). Security gates have security PIN code painted on wall near exit/entrance door and doors to building are propped open all night resulting in poor / nil security

We have stayed at this property regularly over the past 6 years. Sadly it is getting very tired and the bedding materials have suffered from neglect and need replacing. The location is safe and excellent (close to Windsor Rail Station - so 5 minutes to the City) and an easy tram ride down to St Kilda Beach restaurant zone.

The hotel is ok a little old and a little pricey for the type of room that is available, the concierge is quite friendly and helpful overall i enjoyed my stay at the redan only because of its location it was close to chapell st

Although the room was showing its age a bit, the room was clean, I had nice towels and the hotels position was great. Also the staff were very helpful when I notified them i would be very late arriving.

Convenient quiet location and quite comfortable

Very conveniently located to trams and trains for accessing Melbourne city and some interesting suburban shopping. Quite adequate accommodation for the price, but in need of some basic maintenance and repairs. The cupboard doors on the kitchen cupboards didn't close, the mattress sagged in the middle, the cover on the foam mattress was disintegrating, the edge of the blanket was very frayed and the freezer compartment of the fridge was completely frosted over.

Great quiet location in leafy suburban Melbourne inner suburb. Clean and comfy. On site staff friendly and willing to assist. Great!
