The Redcar Hotel is an elegant Georgian Town House Hotel in the lovely city of Bath and situated beside Henrietta Park. Henrietta Street, on which The Redcar Hotel stands, was designed between 1788 and 1792 by Sir William Pulteney and named after his daughter Henrietta Laura Pulteney. Three Georgian town houses were first converted into a Hotel in 1949. Because the property is in a golden location, it was later sold to an organization owned by the famous entertainers Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck, who spent a large amount of money extending and developing this fine hotel. All our bedrooms have en-suite facilities, hospitality tray and direct dial telephone. Conference rooms are also available for 2-70 delegates. There is a Lounge and Bar on premises. The hotel is ideal for business or pleasure. Bath is a unique destination which offers an extraordinary historical perspective - from the Romans to the Georgians. Bath is also celebrating the opening of Europe's most spectacular spa facilities. Within easy driving distance, are some famous attractions such as Cheddar Gorge, the Cotswolds, and the awe-inspiring Stonehenge. We have limited free car parking spaces (First Come First Served). We regret that there is no lift at our hotel. All prices are inclusive of VAT @ 17.5%. Wireless Internet access is available in the hotel. A strict no-smoking policy is maintained throughout the hotel.

One of the worst mattresses I have slept on in any hotel. Very lumpy and well past it's useby date. Wi-fi did not work in my room - had to go down to the ground floor.

Superb location, and good value for money. Not luxury but then who would expect that for the price? Room small but fine, bed ok, shower could have been better, lots provided for breakfast and it hit the spot. Staff friendly. Overall satisfactory. Would stay here again, if just for the proximity to the town centre and the value for money.

This hotel's location in Bath is excellent, which made up for the quality of the room. The main rooms - lobby, bar, dinning room were all absolutley fine. Sadly I cannot say the same about the family room which I was allocated. It was three flights up - not very convenient though I guess good for cardio vascular well being, the room was quite clean but the room & bathroom needed a make over. Carpet gripper was exposed along one wall which coul have been risky had we not spotted it? Worst was the double bed which I shared with my daughter, the mattress was lumpy and prevented a good nights sleep. Other rooms may have been superior but for the one night which we were staying obviously not worth swapping rooms for.

The Redcar is a gorgeous Georgian terrace situated in an excellent position. The rooms are tastefully decorated to match the period - unfortunately the period is early Eighties (1980's) and does require a little tlc to bring it up to modern standards.

My room was quite small and poky. The fan did not work in the shower room and the shower head and the toilet seat were both coming away from their fixings. The bedside light did not work, however this was sorted out when i called reception. I do not think that I will stay here again, despite the hotel's convenient location.

Inside window frames dirty, windows almost impossible to open/close. Radiator knob impossible to turn consequently unable to know if possible to turn on heat as cold in evenings. Beds good, furniture bad,no wardrobe or chest with drawers even with room small it could have been utilized better, these small Georgian bedrooms are more suitable to be classed as single accommodation as opposed to double. Decor needs up-dating but keep old style design. Shower good needs modernizing. Breakfast good dining-room nice/quaint. Staff nice. Lovely area and great location. I enjoyed my stay for 3 nights would find it annoying if I were staying longer as windows, ceiling lighting and radiator would be my big gripe!
