Regal Hongkong Hotel Guest Reviews

3.8 out of 5

I stayed at the Regal Royale room and the room was excellent - very spacious by HK standards with high ceilings. There was also a deluxe continental breakfast that was actually more like a full breakfast, with sausages and eggs and bacon etc. Service was again good, with staff that remembered my name and was very helpful in arranging the complimentary shuttle service to and fro the airport for me. There was nothing much to complain about, except perhaps the lack of seating in the lobby area.

The location is very good. The causeway bay MTR is nearby within walking distance (5mins). Easy to get food, there are many small local eateries just across the road at the nearby streets. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in all the local eateries, forget about the hotel food (have not tried it, save my stomach for the local authetic fare). stay on 15 storey twin sharing room, room is quite big, simple decor, clean bed. pipe in music available in the bathroom, there's a shower and a bathtub. The complimentary shuttle to and fro airport was a convenient service for us, but you have to inform them early and choose the right timing when you leave for the airport. certain timing the shuttle will have to go to more hotel to pick up passenger on the way to the airport, and that will take a longer time. i chose the 855am slot, which only stop at regal hongkong and regal kowloon then straight to airport, so not too bad compare to what others have to go through.

This is a hotel that I will recommend. At the promotional price that paid, it is very value for money since the room is larger than I expected.

The reception service could be improved because there were only 2 staff at the counter to serve a long queue of guests at a snail's pace. The toilet bowl had brown unsightly stains caused by sediments from the rusty pipes. Otherwise a good value for money hotel located in a great location at Causeway Bay that provides good sized rooms. Another plus factor being, the complimentary hotel shuttle (H2) from the Hong Kong Airport Express Train Station takes you right to the doorstep of The Regal Hotel. Very convenient indeed!

Pricing was very good because we had a 3-night stay promo price. Location is fantastic for shoppholic, but keep your wife or girlfriends away if you do not wish to have a huge damage to your wallet.

The Air conditioning did not work to dry the air consequently the room was always damp and towels did not dry.I mentioned it to room staff and nothing was done When I arrived the room smelled of stale tobacco. I was there for a football trip and it was of that standard . a bit old and tired pub but room rate was about right for closeness to ground. The mini bar prices were outragiously expensive . HK$78 for a bottle of water

The hotel location and facilities are very good. Accommodation was great as well. Hotel price is a little steep but must be a function of the location.

This hotel is often very full thus short-staffed for fast ready service. We arrived at the hotel around 2:30pm but the rooms were still under cleaning and we were able to check-into the rooms around 3:30pm. Internet connection on higher floors was not good, either. Golden (Royal) crab was wrongly cooked (deep-fried) while we were expecting "steamed". It was not worthwhile.

The hotel is a good value, and close to Causeway Bay shopping, which is a lively and energetic area. Upon check-in I was offered a deal wherein you pay extra to get bumped up to a 2-room suite with a nice view of the peaks of Hong Kong island, plus free internet, suit pressing, breakfast, cocktails, gym use, discounts on min-bar and other extras. Compared to what you must pay at the Shangri-la, Marriott or Conrad, price performance at this hotel is much better. The downside is a rather gauche and tacky interior throughout, but considering the value that is a fair trade-off, I would say.

Service and accommodations get high marks. Food was very tasty. Front desk staff helpful, especially when I needed to change my room from a sokng room to a non-smoking room.
